President Street, a band from Melbourne, Australia, are an increasingly growing band. One interesting thing about President Street is that they do not stick to just one genre, as they have music from pop, soul to even drum ‘n’ bass. However, the members of the band have extremely diverse backgrounds, but their love for music glued them together. The band’s name “President Street” comes from a street that one the members used to live near in Perth, Australia.
Their latest release “Tell Me Brother” challenges the idea of masculinity and its meaning. The conversation of what a ‘man’ actually is, is key within this song, as they sing about strength, compassion and understanding. They reach out to eradicate the concept of violent and toxic masculinity and change this into men using their strength to help others.
The track is an upbeat, groovy one, that lifts us up. “Tell Me Brother” is almost a contagious song, filled with positivity. The groovy beat and bassline are catchy and memorable, leaving us with a dance-like feeling. The song is funkier compared the President Street’s usual style, but they have done exceptionally well with it! The upbeat melodies, meaningful lyrics and outstanding vocals have all truly created a masterpiece.
Go give a listen to the President Street’s newest track, and I am certain you will love it just as much as I do!
