I have previously reviewed music by Damien, and I was super eager to hear more from him as I absolutely loved the track Nowhere. But first let me remind you who Damien is.
Damien is an alternative electro-rock artist from Ipswich, Australia, and can listen to anything from Billie Eilish to Nirvana to Metallica, Bjork and Chopin, and that versatility comes through in his music.
Starting off with some chimes and record crackles, with Damien’s cracked vocals, the song soon erupts into an electro-rock masterpiece.
Damien’s voice is already strong and powerful, if not slightly quirky, and the distortion used creates a great effect which only adds to the lure of the vocals and the lyrics. He is accompanied by strong, layered back ups that gives the song a great depth and power and the change of pace of the lyrics throughout the song really keeps the listener interested.
Musically, this track is very dark with almost gothic tones and the electronic / synth elements to it are very reminiscent of the sounds of the 80’s / 90’s.
This is a very alluring track, almost hypnotic, and will appeal to a wide range of listeners, from alternative rock/pop to dark wave, to synth alike.
Another impressive track from this exceptionally talented artist, who shows diversity in music is alway7s a good thing.
Keep them coming!
