Can you tell us about the origin of the name?
The name means to “cross” something you don’t like about yourself or putting an end to a relationship/feelings , it actually can be applied to more things than just that, i see it as finally putting an end or facing something.
Are you all from the same area? How did you get together as a band?
In this project I work with musicians as session artists, since I compose the song and most of the parts.
Who are your favourite artists/bands and how have they influenced your own sounds?
The biggest influences would be “Tim skold” (SKOLD), “Marilyn Manson”, “Adam Gontier” (Three days grace), “Chester Bennington”, “Benjamin Burnley” (Breaking Benjamin).
Did you always have the ambition to be a musician and in a band or did you originally have other plans?
I started learning how to play a guitar and singing at 18, so I never thought it would become my true passion in life, but then I started living with the music, taking it everywhere, and really, diving deep in to this parallel world, it’s been 10 years and now I’m starting to move on a different level as an artist. I have my solo project “ISXOVER” (Melodic/Metal, Industrial), my band “D.R.I.P” (Alt Rock) and my personal songs (Andre Oliva) (Various genres) I love music genres that have a soul and something to show.
What songs or albums are on your current playlist?
Tim skold – Void
Marilyn manson – Suicide is painless
Ludovico Technique – Live as myself
Do you sing in the shower?
I do, but I mostly think about everything that has ever happened in my past before that point and look at the future with a bit of resignation, but I know I’m made for big things!
Do you have any plans for the band for this year and into next year?
My plans for the rest of the year is to keep gigging in my city and continue to build up my name as a brand that englobes everything i do or im capable of doing, i’m on the search of like minded people around the world.
Do you currently have any new songs/albums ready to be released?
Ludovico Technique – Live as myself I’m currently working on the song that precedes “DEATH ITSELF” , my first single on the self titled album, it’s a concept album about death and the afterlife, the next song is called “VOID”, if you follow me on instagram “@isxover” you might get to hear a bit.
If you could play at any venue in the world, where would you choose?
I’d love to tour the U.S with my music, probably some dark/goth pubs. I don’t think my music is for filling big arenas since it is a bit introspective.
Do you have a favourite album? If so, what is it?
That’s probably the album “SKOLD” by Tim Skold
It changed my life and point of view and was a lifeline for me at the time.
Do you have any guilty pleasure songs/albums?
I don’t call it guilty cause i can’t really listen to something i deem as “empty”
So everything i listen to has some meaning to me
If you were putting together the greatest show on earth, who would be playing?
Tim Skold, Vile Valo, Marilyn Manson, Chino Moreno, John Frusciante, Adam Gontier.
Can you remember the first album you bought with your own money? What was it and do you still have it?
I still have it, it’s SUM41 – Underclass Hero, I blasted it nonstop on an old cd player.
