Love Ghost are a very prolific band from Los Angeles who have the iconic pop punk sound of the late 90’s / early 00’s but with their own unique twist. Mixing this with rap and hip/hop the band have really come up with a sound and made it their own.
Glock is their latest single, released on 11/08/2023, and is a trap metal / hard Latin rap song in the vein of Scarlxrd, Ghostemane and City Morgue. The track is a collaboration with Mexican rapper Dan Garcia and is about the unleashing of your inner self, the beast you mostly keep in a cage.
With some heavy beats and guitar riffs this track really does get under your skin and kicks you right in the stomach, obviously in a good way! The mixture of clean singing with hip/hop rapping is a quality the band have featured before in their songs, and it is this that really makes the song stand out. Not only is there a combination of vocal styles but, once again, the track is sung in both Spanish and English, giving the listener much to listen to.
The only gripe I have with this track is that its just not long enough. At just two minutes in length, the song comes to an end just as the listener is getting into it but, on the upside, it is two minutes of heavy, in your face, metal and hip/hop crossover music!
Another great track from this very hardworking band. Check Love Ghost out and see what you think for yourself!
