The Metal Asylum Talks To……….Bilwis

Can you tell us about the origin of the band name, a history of the band and a little bit about the various members?

Bilwis : Bilwis is a demon who lives in the south area of germany and destroy the harvest of the farmer. I run Bilwis alone and start everything due the start of the Corona pandemic in 2020.

Are you all from the same area? How did you get together as a band?

Bilwis: I live in Nordrhein – Westfalen, which is in the west of Germany.

Who are your favourite artists/bands and how have they influenced your own sound?

Bilwis: I think a huge influence is DISSECTION. Bilwis doesn`t sound like them for 100 percent, but here and there it`s shimmering through. When I start writing songs, I don`t have anything in my mind.Just let the music flow.

Did you always have the ambition to be a musician and in a band or did you originally have other plans?

Bilwis: I start to play guitar when I was 16, really late. But from that moment on, I play in bands without a break.

Do you sing in the shower?

Bilwis: No

Do you have any plans for the band for this year and into next year?

Bilwis: In a few days “Hameln” see the light of the world, and im looking forward how react the people. Then we will see whats going on.

Do you currently have any new songs/albums ready to be released?

Bilwis: “Hameln” is ready to go on the 5.4 via Northern Silence. But yes, I still have some new ideas in my mind.

If you could play at any venue in the world where would you choose?

Bilwis: Obscene Extreme Festival

Do you have a favourite album? If so, what is it?

Bilwis: Dissection – Storm of the Lights Bane

Do you have any guilty pleasure songs/albums?

Bilwis: Not really, I listen to what I like

If you were putting together the greatest show on earth, who would be playing?

Bilwis: Dissection, Solstice, Malevolent Creation and Death.

Can you remember the first album you bought with your own money? What was it and do you still have it?

Bilwis: Sure, Napalm Death : From Enslavement to Obliteration. Its still in my record collection.
