Ukraine’s atmospheric black metal band, Labyrinthus Stellarum, unleashes their latest single, ‘Cosmic Plague’.
Cosmic Plague is one of the heaviest and darkest tracks of Labyrinthus Stellarum. It tells the story of a catastrophic invasion by a race of ruthless parasites that are destroying life on entire planets. These creatures, born in the depths of the Void, were imprisoned there for eons, but after the rift between the worlds was opened, they broke free. Led by their Queen, they bring destruction to all living things, leaving behind only ruins and death.
Cosmic Plague is the third single from the upcoming album Rift in Reality, which will be released in the spring of 2025. The new album will be even more experimental and diverse than the previous one, and will combine atmospheric, melodic compositions and hard, aggressive tracks, creating a unique journey through the darkness of space. The album cover was drawn by Mark Cooper, known for working with bands such as Rings of Saturn and Brand of Sacrifice.
Labyrinthus Stellarum is a cosmic black metal band from Odesa, founded in 2021 by vocalist and songwriter Oleksandr Andronati and guitarist Oleksandr Kostetskyi. Later, they were joined by a second guitarist, Oleksandr Andronati’s brother, Misha. In 2023, they released their debut album Tales of the Void, which gained recognition for its blend of atmospheric black metal with elements of electronic music and cosmic-themed lyrics. Shortly after the album’s release, Oleksandr Kostetskyi left the band, and since then, Labyrinthus Stellarum has continued as a duo of the two brothers.
Their second album, Vortex of the Worlds, was released on April 6, 2024, solidifying Labyrinthus Stellarum’s place in the cosmic black metal scene alongside bands like Darkspace, Mesarthim, and Vorga. Despite their short existence, the band has performed with iconic Ukrainian black metal acts such as White Ward, and Colotyphus.
