WEDNESDAY 13 Teams Up With Faster Pussycat’s Taime Downe for Hard Rocker “No Apologies”

Slaying audiences across North America on his “There’s No Such Thing As Monsters” tour celebrating 20 years of Transylvania 90210WEDNESDAY 13 has just unleashed the biggest surprise in his bag of tricks – brand-new single “No Apologies” featuring Faster Pussycat’s Taime Downe! The track appears on the band’s upcoming full-length album, Mid Death Crisis, out this Friday, April 25 via Napalm Records.

“No Apologies” wastes no time ripping into a heavy rock rager, laced with fiery guitar leads and even more searing lyrics. The fast-romping anthem is an unapologetic exorcism of toxic demons and even more toxic people, and arrives alongside a new music video, also featuring Taime Downe.

WEDNESDAY 13 comments about “No Apologies”:
“This is the most rock n’ roll song I’ve written in years. I wanted to go back to my roots, and my roots are 80s glam. The name at the top of that list was Faster Pussycat, so it made total sense to have Taime Downe guest on this track. Having one of my rock n’ roll idols alongside me in the studio was an honor. We whipped up a nasty little middle finger salute to ourselves on this one, and the result is ‘No Apologies’.”

After returning in 2022 with his widely-acclaimed full-length album Horrifier (#8 US Top New Artist Albums), as well as several major tours supporting his solo work and celebrated Murderdolls reunion shows, the Duke of Spook is back with Mid Death CrisisWEDNESDAY 13 dubs the album as a fun, campy, “leave-your-brain-at-the-door” ragerand a true return to his hard-rocking roots! Produced by guitarist Alex Kane (Life, Sex & Death, Enuff Z’Nuff, Antiproduct) and mixed by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Prong, DevilDriver) the album oozes infectious 80s sleaze metal energy.

Eerie introductory track “There’s No Such Thing As Monsters” vibrates with electricity before industrial-tinged “Decease and Desist” kicks in full blast. WEDNESDAY 13’s trademark crooning wastes no time entering the fold as he careens through the high-octane horror anthem. First single “When the Devil Commands” instantly proves itself as a stunner with an unforgettable hook, charging arena rock-laden drum production and chugging guitars, before tracks like “Rotting Away” and “Blood Storm” ensnare with metallic goth-punk energy that will have crowds moving wall to wall. Featuring Faster Pussycat’s Taime Downe on guest vocals, standout heavy rocker “No Apologies” is a fast-romping exorcism of toxic demons, while the triumphant mini-murder ballad “Decapitation” riles up listeners with a catchy lead riff before making a hard left into a theatrical bridge straight out of a sinister 60s sock hop! Ragers like “In Misery”“Xanaxtasy” and “Sick and Violent” explore various genres of metal, injecting the album with elements of gripping heaviness for any listener, while downtempo stunners “I Hurt You” and “My Funeral” approach a more pensive territory.

Although its title, Mid Death Crisis, may suggest otherwise, WEDNESDAY 13 shows zero signs of stopping on this refreshingly powerful and multi-faceted entry into the band’s hall of horrific history!

Brutal Death OPHIOLATRY Release Harrowing Video Clip For New Single “Death Tour” Off New Album “Serpent’s Verdict” Out June 2025 (WormHoleDeath Records)

Brazilian extreme metal outfit Ophiolatry has released a new music video, “Death Tour”, the first single from their upcoming album “Serpent’s Verdict”, due June 6, 2025, via Wormholedeath Records. This latest visual offering is inspired by Greek mythology, depicting the journey of a fallen warrior’s soul through the realm of death. As the spirit is carried across the River Styx, it approaches the gates of Hades, where the warrior’s tribe awaits his arrival, welcoming him into the afterlife. They comment further on the single and the video:

“The warrior perished, part of his body bathed in the blood of the unworthy. He doesn’t beg. He doesn’t hesitate. The ancestors whisper his name as his spirit ascends, enveloped in the smoke of rituals. The witches dance around the burning fire, invoking Charon’s presence. The coins reflect in his lifeless eyes, an offering to the boatman. From the depths of Lake Styx. The serpent rises, its coils moving like time itself. As he breathes, the warrior’s confusion dissolves into clarity. He steps onto the distant shore, where his tribe awaits him in reverent silence. There are no words; They are not necessary. They were already waiting to cross the gates of Hades together; The end is just
the beginning.”

“Death Tour” represents a sonic evolution for Ophiolatry, balancing their technical prowess with a more atmospheric, tribally influenced approach to extreme metal. The video clip amplifies these themes through striking imagery that merges Greek Mythology with the brutality of modern death metal aesthetics.

Each track on “Serpent’s Verdict” functions as part of an immersive narrative experience. It is an invocation of the past and a battle cry for the future. With the release of “Death Tour,” Ophiolatry continues to build anticipation for the full album, which promises to be one of the most devastating extreme metal releases of 2025. It is recommended for fans of Cryptopsy, Suffocation, and Death.

Norwegian Thrash TONIC BREED Teams Up w/ FLOTSAM and JETSAM’s Michael Gilbert For New Single “The Die Is Cast”

Norway’s Tonic Breed, led by one man thrash machine Patrik K. Svendsen, has teamed up with Flotsam and Jetsam guitarist Michael Gilbert for a guest solo on the new single “The Die Is Cast”. This is the second collaboration of 2025 by Tonic Breed and follows the previously released track “The Charge” with Darkroot.

Straight to the point. No fluff, no filler, “The Die Is Cast” is pure, hard-hitting thrash from start to finish, with a touch of melody woven in. The song is about a powerful war machine that lies broken and abandoned, surrounded by the wreckage of others like it. Its silence feels heavy, as if it’s aware of the destruction it once brought and the emptiness that followed.

Svendsen adds about the track:

“I think the fans are gonna dig this one. Tonic Breed never releases a song that sounds too much like the previous one. Also, with guest appearances, the unique touch on each song is there all the time. I’m super excited about the response from the fans! I went for an ’80s thrash composition on this one! Having Michael on board is an absolute honor, as he was a part of that era and genre of music.”

Gilbert comments:

“It was an honor to be asked to do a guest solo appearance with Patrik and Tonic Breed. Some killer heavy music and a pleasure to be a part of. Cheers!”

Tonic Breed is a Norwegian thrash and heavy metal one-man music project by Patrik K. Svendsen. Until 2019, Tonic Breed was originally a four-piece band, established in Sarpsborg, Norway, in 2006. As of 2022, Tonic Breed has released three albums and one EP. Today, Tonic Breed is constantly reinventing itself in songwriting and guest collaborations.

JAWFANE Announces Debut EP “Me And All My Demons” With Lead Single “Cataclysm (Nightmare)”

USA’s post-hardcore outfit Jawfane is proud to announce their debut EP “Me and All My Demons” set for release on June 26th through Exitus Stratagem Records. Alongside this announcement, the band has released their first single, “Cataclysm (Nightmare),” which is the first look at the aggressive, emotional, and immersive music Jawfane prides themselves on. Cory comments on the single:

“I am of the 00’ hardcore scene with a deep love for Norma Jean, the opening riff is an call back to that era, Chase did a great job writing us out of it into a more modern metal riff that’s the hard part of those moments, coming out of the familiar into something not so normal for me at least. We tried to be as aggressive as we could with the breakdown and chorus, but still keep it a song with a structure, which is not the instinct when playing giant breakdowns. I never want those parts to end.”

Born from a desire to create without judgment or barriers, Jawfane has spent the last four years building their sound from the ground up. What began as a group of friends secretly writing together has evolved into an immersive musical force that defies easy categorization. Though rooted in metal-core and hardcore sensibilities, the band refuses to be pigeonhole into a single genre.

“Me and All My Demons” represents a collection of real-life experiences transformed into raw, cathartic expressions. All Jawfane songs are based in reality for at least one of the members, someone they know personally, or something they needed to say that they couldn’t say any other way”. This authenticity runs through lead single “Cataclysm (Nightmare),” which showcases the band’s ability to channel personal struggles into powerful sonic landscapes.

The EP was initially self-produced before catching the attention of Exitus Stratagem Records, who worked with the band to rework and re-record the entire collection. Jawfane will be supporting the release with shows throughout the summer. They are recommended for fans of Misery Signals, Cane Hill, and King 810.

Watch the Official Music Video for “Evil In All Dimensions” HERE:

Evil in All Dimensions is undeniable proof of AMBUSH’s unwavering passion and talent for the genre. Now, with Napalm Records as their partner, they are primed to take the world by storm. AMBUSH wield an arsenal of of 80s metal prowess: with whipping drums, sharp guitars, and high-pitched vocals, “Come Angel of Night” explores themes of reconciliation when the damage seems irreversible, culminating in a soaring solo that highlights the band’s musical power. Bassist Oskar Andersson hypnotizes listeners with his infectious grooves in the brooding “The Night I Took Your Life”, while “Maskinovka” features an anthemic, standout performance from vocalist Oskar Jakobssons. A song to pump your fist to, vacillating between themes of escapism and self destruction, amidst the battle against one’s inner demons.  Founder Oskar Jakobssons screams his soul out in this heavy-hearted and honest masterpiece, which creates the perfect moment to wave your lighters in the air, passionately belting along.

LIK Unleashes “Deceased” Video

Swedish death metallers, LIK, today unleash their new video for “Deceased.” The track comes off their brilliantly brutal Necro full-length, released on April 18th via Metal Blade Records.

Within Necro‘s ten tracks, LIK – whose name translates to “corpse” in Swedish – has created a seamless album, diverse in tempo but without losing any of their blood-soaked intensity and relentless in-your-face-attitude listeners have come to expect. There are twists and turns that keep LIK on a progressive path without straying from their old-school trademark sounds inspired by the godfathers Dismember, At The Gates and, of course, Entombed.

Necro is the musical equivalent of a classic shock-horror movie that‘s drenched in blood and gore and packed with over-the-top extremities. Delve beyond the zombified cover art created by Stockholm-based tattooist and artist Jens Olsson (Ink Fanatics), LIK‘s Necro serves as a reminder of just how special and exciting the genre is: packed with blood-curdling fantasy stories about war, death, zombies, world apocalypse, and murder all stacked with disgustingly rotten riffs.

Lauds Metal Hammer Germany of the release, “…LIK tells us blood-soaked, imaginative stories peppered with everything good death metal needs: zombies, necrophilia, murder, death, war, and dystopian end-time scenarios that culminate in total decay. Necro sounds classic yet contemporary. Not dusty, rotten, or mothballed, but fresh, spicy, and deadly precise. Swedish death metal as it couldn’t be more Swedish.” Dead Rhetoric champions the band‘s “finest album to date,” adding, “It‘s utterly abrasive, yet it never blurs together due to the way they can weave in melodies in just the right proportions. Necro is an absolute winner for anyone seeking death metal done right,” while Metal Temple crowns Necro “the Swedish death metal album of the year,” further noting, “It captures the spirit of the genre with flawless execution, proving that LIK stands at the top of the modern scene.”

Comments vocalist/guitarist Tomas Åkvik on “Deceased,” “This is the opening track of the album and it’s a total Entombed homage. It has everything from mid-tempo to skank beats. Lyric-wise, it‘s about a guy who tries to come back from the dead to avenge his death. “

Watch LIK‘s “Deceased” video HERE:

Necro was recorded at NBS Studio (AKA Necromorbus Studio) in Söderfors, two hours from the band‘s home city. Once again using uber-producer Lawrence Mackrory (Meshuggah, Katatonia, High Parasite, Decapitated), all music was recorded live over a three-day period, before Åkvik headed to Uppsala to record his vocals at Mackrory‘s Rorysound Studios. Mackrory has worked with LIK since their 2015 debut Mass Funeral Evocation and throughout their Metal Blade Records‘ career that started with 2018‘s Carnage. It‘s clear upon first listen that with Necro, the quartet have produced some of the best work of their decade-plus long career.
Necro features guest appearances by Linnea Landstedt (Tyranex, Ice Age), Nick Holmes (Paradise Lost, Bloodbath), and Lawrence Mackrory (F.K.Ü.).

ANUBIS RETURN WITH “LEPER LORD”New Video Online Now From Next Month’s EP Release

Los Angeles Power Thrashers ANUBIS drop a new song “Leper Lord” today in the form of a new lyric video, designed by Scott Rudd. Watch HERE:

The song is one of three new tracks that will be found on their forthcoming EP, ‘The Puppeteers,’ out May 16th, exclusively digital. Pre-Save now HERE https://lnk.to/thepuppeteers

“So, why, after releasing our debut full-length album, did we decide to go back to digital EP format?” questions singer Devin Reiche. “Well, several months ago, we decided to bump up our go-to live growler for songs like “Devour” and “Strife,” Hanna Preston, to a full-time member, and fully commit to a dual clean/harsh vocal approach. This was a pretty big decision, and one that will inevitably result in a shift towards a heavier sound.

“The problem is, at the time, we had just finished our second album, which obviously reflects our previous tone and songwriting approach. So, rather than committing to a full album cycle’s worth of gigging for material that was not written with the current lineup in mind, we decided to take the three songs most reminiscent of our heretofore traditional sound—thrash-infused power metal—and release them as a their own EP as a ‘send-off’ to the classic sound, thereby opening up space on the second album for some material reflecting the more updated version of ANUBIS.”

“This EP marks the end of an era for us—a swansong that closes one chapter with fire before we dive into darker, heavier waters,” explains bassist Will Buckley. “These songs showcase the final form of the sound that built ‘Dark Paradise.’”

Fans of melodic, high speed, power metal take note on “Leper Lord” and the impending EP, ‘The Puppeteers.’ It serves as not only a continuation of the sound found on ANUBIS’ remarkable ‘Dark Paradise’ album, but also as a stop-gap as the quintet continues to play shows all over Southern California, including recent plays supporting Warbringer, Delain, Xandria and Dreadlands.

ANUBIS singer Devin Reiche may be a familiar name to fans of thrash and underground metal as he’s also the bassist in Bay Area thrashers Hatchet, but Devin actually lives in L.A. and power metal has always been his first love and calling. Working diligently Devin has developed his vocal abilities and become quite the commanding frontman.

Joining Devin in ANUBIS are guitarists Eleazar Llerenas (Delusional Fate) and bassist Will Buckley (Hydera) plus new members drummer Kenny Ravage (Black Mercy Riffs), guitarist Chase McGuckin (Demiser, Black Eucharist) and singer Hanna Preston – all musicians who’ve been cutting their teeth in the L.A. music scene. Watch for ANUBIS’ next full length in late 2025.

CELESTIAL SANCTUARY “Choking On The Rotten Seed” Video

UK death metal goliaths CELESTIAL SANCTUARY are pleased to present their video for “Choking On The Rotten Seed.” The track comes off the band‘s critically adored Visions Of Stagnant Blood EP, recently reissued by Metal Blade Records.

Comments vocalist/guitarist Thomas Cronin, “The idea behind the video was to introduce ourselves and what we’re about to people who haven’t heard our band yet, and there’s a lot of people out there who haven’t got a fucking clue who we are.

“Stylistically, we really just wanted to capture that essence and feeling of discovering your new favorite band on Headbangers Ball at 2:00am. We’re not trying to recreate any particular video or look like we’re of another era, but those videos that have stuck with us are mostly just the bands walking around the town they’re from, playing in some skanky little room or live footage of them doing their thing. Too many bands get caught in the trap of trying to create some fuckin’ viral moment or having something super polished and sleek. I have a career as a music video producer, so we could have easily gone and done something like that straight outta the gate. But we’re just not about that; our music is hard enough as it is, and we have the attitude to go with it. So why not let that shine for now?

“The history of the area we hail from was a big influence on the lyrical content on this release,” he continues, “so for the exterior shots, we didn’t just choose the coolest looking spots; each of them has a significant historical and gory importance… There‘s the ruins of the Abbey of St. Edmunds (now Abbey Gardens): During a big battle in East Anglia, King Edmund was pelted with loads of arrows and then beheaded and discarded in the woods like a rotten sack of meat. Legend has it that his body was found being guarded by a wolf. Then there was The Abbey Precinct/Graveyard, which is where a ton of executions took place throughout the years, where thousands of people would come to watch for entertainment, most notably the execution of William Corder who was guilty of the ‘Red Barn Murders.’  It’s also where the executions — or should I say murders — of the witches captured by Matthew Hopkins, ‘Witchfinder General’ took place. And then there‘s the last one, Skinner Street. Basically, this is the street where the butchers in the area were based. They’d dump all the ‘unused’ blood out onto the street, which has a bit of an incline, so the blood would flow down this cobbled street and pool at the bottom in the town’s jewelry quarter. So, there’s stories of people wading through stagnant blood and having to put up with the smell of rotten entrails. Half of us grew up in this town, and it’s always just seemed so normal to us – all this gory shit that’s happened over the years.”

CELESTIAL SANCTUARY‘s Visions Of Stagnant Blood EP was initially released independently in 2024. Distorted Sound called it “powerful, imposing, gory,” Metal Forces lauded a full on “bludgeoning riddled with archaic and primitive slickness and sickness,” while Noobheavy hailed “big, filthy death metal with riffs for days.”

A Haunting Call from Beyond – “A Voice in the Dark” by Near Death Experience

As we await the long-anticipated CD release of Near Death Experience’s critically acclaimed debut album, Brief Is The Light, on May 30th, 2025, the French gothic doom metal ensemble reignites the shadows with a haunting re-release of their lyric video for “A Voice in the Dark.” This mesmerizing music video is a journey through life, death, and the yearning to return.

“A Voice in the Dark” is a melancholic yet powerful exploration of the fragile line between existence and oblivion. With ethereal melodies, crushing riffs, and haunting vocals, Near Death Experience creates a captivating narrative of love, loss, and the desperate desire to escape the shadows: “The waves crash, the sand shifts beneath weary feet—will they find their way back, or remain lost in the dark forever?”

Watch “A Voice in the Dark” now:

Originally a solo instrumental project by Mathieu Bonfardin (drums) during the COVID-19 pandemic in May 2020, Near Death Experience (NDE) was fully formed as a band in Nantes, France, in May 2022. NDE blends gothic, melancholic doom metal with clean, lyrical female vocals. Influenced by bands like Paradise Lost, The Gathering, Draconian, Katatonia, Black Sabbath, Moonspell, and Metallica, NDE explores the dark and compelling theme of near-death experiences.

Their LP, Brief Is The Light, is a concept album telling the story of a woman, a victim of domestic violence, now in a coma and experiencing near-death visions. As she recalls her past life, she yearns to return to reality, despite the suffering and uncertainty.

Will you press ‘play’ and journey with her? Don’t worry—the light will shine at the end.
