Can you tell us about the origin of the band name, a history of the band and a little bit about the various members?

Radio75 is coming for our passion for radio and music of the 70’s, specially in 1975, the year where songs like Bohemian Rhapsody, Wish You Were Here or Kashmir came out.

As a band we were born in 2017 but we’ve been playing together in different projects since 2011. Our first album “Songs For Celine” was released in 2019 and our second one called “Mandatory” has been released this 2022.

Carles Nin is the guitar player and main composer of music in the band and I use to write lyrics and create the voice’s melodies, but in the record studio we are all working together with Badal (drummer), Dumall (bass player) and Ricard (keyboards) to create the songs that appears in the album. We feel like a band creating music together and we try to ignore all the egos that use to destroy bands often.

Are you all from the same area? How did you get together as a band?

We are all from Barcelona and we met many years ago playing in some other projects, mostly playing covers of our idols. We used to play in the streets of Barcelona during the summer celebrations in front of hundreds and sometimes thousands of people, who vibrated with our tributes to Guns n’ Roses, Nirvana, AC/DC or Iron Maiden, among many others.

Who are your favourite artists/bands and how have they influenced your own sound?

We are a band with very diverse influences.  To those already mentioned before, we can add from the 90’s of Radiohead, Oasis and R.E.M, to the most current Queens of the Stone Age, Muse or Rammstein.  All of them always under the umbrella of what has made everything possible: The Beatles.

Did you always have the ambition to be a musician and in a band or did you originally have other plans?

In my case, since I was a child I remember growing up watching VHS of U2 at Red Rocks or Bruce Springsteen blowing up stadiums, so my wettest dream has always been to get on stage and see people sing your songs.

What songs or albums are on your current playlist?

Since I went to the cinema last month, I’m addicted to listen to Elvis for the first time and specially love his “68′ comeback special”. And I also listened the last album from Ryan Adams called FM.

Do you sing in the shower?

No, I prefer to sing in the car. Most of my songs are coming from my car trips and traffic jams in the morning.

Do you have any plans for the band for this year and into next year?

We’ve been playing concerts in Madrid and Barcelona this year, and also made our first show for Spanish public Radio & TV in “Los Conciertos de Radio3”, the current oldest music program in Spain’s history. It’s hard to make plans nowadays but we are working to play live outside our country as soon as possible.

Do you currently have any new songs/albums ready to be released?

We just started to write some new stuff for our upcoming album, but we are still focused in “Mandatory” videos. The next one will be one of the songs that we have worked on the longest, and that we started in 2016 and that we finally managed to publish on our latest album.  The song is called The Ripper and it’s one of the best we’ve ever done.

If you could play at any venue in the world where would you choose?

Probably in the roof of  3 Savile Row of London, also with some Bobbies trying to stop us while we play I’ve Got A Feeling.

Do you have a favourite album? If so, what is it?

I think it’s impossible to have one only, but there is an album for every moment in your day. Now it’s Saturday night, and we’re ready to party, so I think I’m gonna play my vinyl of U2’s Achtung Baby (but I’ll skip “One” trying not to get asleep 😅).

Do you have any guilty pleasure songs/albums?

When nobody sees me, sometimes I listen to The Prodigy’s “The Fat of the Land” and when I got angry with my boss, I really need Sepultura’s “Roots”.

If you were putting together the greatest show on earth, who would be playing?

That show already existed. It was in 1985 with Live Aid from London and Philadelphia. Maybe we should update this in 2025 with Radio75 instead of Bob Geldof😅.

Can you remember the first album you bought with your own money? What was it and do you still have it?

Yeah! I think I was 12 years old when I bought McCartney’s “Paul is Live”, just days after see him in my first ever concert in his 1993 world tour. Of course I still have it, it’s an awesome live album.

Can you tell us about the origin of the band name, a history of the band and a little bit about the various members?

Yeah we wanted a name representing something difficult to define because that’s what we are. You know this phenomenon is something huge but mostly unknown. For sure it conveys awe and terrifying feelings but at the same time it must seem so abstract and distant for those living nose down, the ones lost into little terrestrial things. All that empty space between it and us… Even a relaxing feeling I guess.

Hurricane, Saturn. Destruction and tranquillity; a hell of a noise and a cosmic silence: two opposite feelings united in a single really existing event.

Perfect duality, perfect name.

About the band’s story and members there is much less to say: we are just Maydx, Dakm, Rastaban, Marakk and Antares, five faceless figures on an impossible mission. We started the band in 2020 and took two years of Covid in the face. We dropped an album and some singles in the meantime, but you know, without live exhibitions a rock band is like a car without the engine.

Are you all from the same area? How did you get together as a band?

Yes we are. We all come from the same area, a beautiful region full of shining nothing right in the middle of nowhere.

Dakm Rastaban and I have been together since the dawn of time.

We dug up for others lost souls like us willing to adventure and share this voyage beyond the boundaries of physics.

Our music vision, what we propose is not for everyone, we are aware. Doing that starting from zero, from nowhere, without any support makes Hurricane On Saturn more similar to a kind of a one way trip than typically playing in a rock band. Hurricane On Saturn is something different. We know no one will ever come back after experiencing it.

Who are your favourite artists/bands and how have they influenced your own sound?

Man, I’m not gonna tell you. I never tell. You know why? Because there’s no point in being specific on this. The outcome would be only a long boring list of common names nobody will ever read to the end.

If you really wanna play, let’s play another game instead. People first listen to our music and then tell us which and how many influences they recognize in our music.

That looks much more fun, doesn’t it?

Did you always have the ambition to be a musician and in a band or did you originally have other plans?

In the place where we come from, other plans are not an option. Other plans are your only reality.

Even creating a solid and durable band with some kind of inside chemistry is on the verge of a miracle. Thinking to become a musician means dreaming much bigger than what everyday life can offer. Of course when I say musician I don’t mean playing  in some local karaoke cover band.

What songs or albums are on your current playlist?

Mainly Hurricane on Saturn stuff. Believe it or not we make our music mainly for ourselves. To have something decent to listen to when we drive down the motorway. Not kidding.

Do you sing in the shower?

Now who told you I get showers.

Do you have any plans for the band for this year and into next year?

It’s been a couple years very intense in certain ways, with that COVID shit and everything. You know for a newcomer band it has been very stressing somehow we went at a crazy speed and released shitton of material.

Now I think we wanna slow down a little, and take some time to look back and see what we have accomplished so far and where we are.

So no plans for 2023 yet. I mean we would have an ocean of new cool ideas but no finalising and releasing schedule.

Do you currently have any new songs/albums ready to be released?

Yep, our second album “φnx” is dropping this November and several singles from it have been published already. I warmly suggest everybody not to miss it.

If you could play at any venue in the world where would you choose?

I won’t focus on the place rather than the audience.

I choose any venue everywhere as long as it’s full with people eager to see us.

Do you have a favourite album? If so, what is it?

Only one? Not realistic if you think you have some culture. Simply too many of them from too many different genres to list.

Do you have any guilty pleasure songs/albums?

As I said I love a lot of albums and songs but not a single one of them is a guilty pleasure. Why should it even be?

I can switch from techno to rap, from metal to classical music, even to pop regional music. When something is well made and most importantly inspirational why would anyone be ashamed of it

If you were putting together the greatest show on earth, who would be playing?

I really don’t know…Hurricane On Saturn for sure. Luckily this is not my job.

Can you remember the first album you bought with your own money? What was it and do you still have it?

Damn, it should have been something like…And Justice for All from Metallica. Yeah maybe it’s still inside some closet.

Can you tell us about the origin of the band name, a history of the band and a little bit about the various members?

The band Krack was created at the end of 2020 in France and is centred around its singer who decides which instrumentals to work on, writes the lyrics and performs the songs. This project was supposed to be a simple side project of a metal band (Frejya) enabling the singer to express his hip-hop influences. However, the interest of our entourage for the first songs released permitted the project to materialize and to constitute a crew.

Also, if the project is managed by the singer there is an artistic director (Mathias), a person in charge of the mix/mastering (torpeur_beats) and a video director (sebastienk_arts). It is important to note that the last two people are from the hip-hop scene.

Are you all from the same area? How did you get together as a band?

The singer and Mathias are childhood friends who played together in different metal bands in the south of France, in Marseille. Torpeur_beats as well as Sebastienk_arts come from the Paris area and joined the project as soon as the first songs were recorded.

Who are your favourite artists/bands and how have they influenced your own sound?

We listen to a lot of music, especially extreme and aggressive music, which can range from death metal to hip hop to electro. Our main influences are the nu-metal scene from the 90s and the current trap-metal scene.

So, bands like Korn, Deftones… have influenced us as much as Ghostemane, Scarlxrd or City Morgue. The vocals are very much inspired by death metal, rap and grime styles and screams from progressive metal (Meshuggah…).

Did you always have the ambition to be a musician and in a band or did you originally have other plans?

If the three other members are musicians who have made a living, the singer was a semi-professional sportsman (basketball) before turning to music. For all the project members it is truly a passion that permits us to express our deepest feelings.

What songs or albums are on your current playlist?

In metal, the latest from Meshuggah is amazing, the EP from Ten 56 is great, and the singles from Darko US are great to me. I also listen to Montionless in White and Left to Suffer.

In other styles, I listen to a lot of hyperpop like Lil Mariko or Cobrah; a lot of trap with the latest Ghostemane, and a lot of UK Drill.

Do you sing in the shower?

Yes, I do my vocals in the shower but as I live alone I often sing all over my apartment.

Do you have any plans for the band for this year and into next year?

Krack’s first EP will be released at the same time as the release of the next music video at the end of the year. Krack’s second EP is almost finished and will be released in 2023.

Do you currently have any new songs/albums ready to be released?

20 songs are already recorded and mixed and will be released gradually.

If you could play at any venue in the world where would you choose?

The Bercy hall in Paris. If it is not the best concert hall in the world, to be able to play there just once would be a sign of the success of a style of music that remains very confidential in my country.

Do you have a favourite album? If so, what is it?

Issues by Korn. Incredible power, sensitivity and rhythm. A must listen.

Do you have any guilty pleasure songs/albums?

I must admit I still listen to Limp Bizkit and am a big fan of Lil Nas X. Being part of the LGBT community I listen to a lot of artists that stand for our colours without necessarily being a huge fan of their musical styles.

If you were putting together the greatest show on earth, who would be playing?

Musically I would do a metal stage with all my favorite artists: Korn, Will Haven, Deftones, Meshuggah, Motionless in White, Ten 56, Tool, Left to Suffer and Wage War.

Darkane, Rusted Angel, another classic. It remains at my parents’ house but I still listen to it regularly, The Rape Of Mankind is one of my favourite songs.

Besides the violence of the music, Krack wants to spread a message of freedom and inclusion. The band members come from very different geographical, cultural and musical backgrounds; even our sexual orientations differ; but what brings us together is our willingness to go beyond the boundaries of what is conventional, to free ourselves from our societal brakes.

Our subjects are very diverse but we hope that our listeners will retain the main message: be who you want to be and accept the other as he is.

Fate Will Come is a hard rock band  mixed with metal.

Matt and Michael came up with the name which is perfect as that is what happened!

The band ” Fate Will Come” is a long waited dream collaboration between Renita and Matt .

“We met on a music website where Renita had some of her original blues songs posted songs  in  2019 and I  was asked if wanted to collaborate with Matt.

I loved Matt’s guitar style so i jumped right in  and we started to write songs fast and furiously!

The music is a fusion of  hard rock with metal , thanks to Matts aggressive guitar style .

His guitar style is influenced by Zakk Wylde and Dave Mustaine.

Matt has his own studio and his focus has always been original music .

•Can you tell us about the origin of the band name, a history of the band and a little bit about the various members? 

So a lot of people think the name October Noir is a direct rip from Type O Negative’s October Rust, but that’s not the case. When Tom named the band, he wanted to give it a name that was simple and really comprised the imagery of the music, thus, October Noir stuck. 

This band has been through a few members in the past. Turmoil of clashing ideas saw a few come and go. The band is now myself on drums, Tom Noir on bass/vocals, and Doug Lane as the guitarist. 

•Are you all from the same area? How did you get together as a band?

Tom and Doug are in Pensacola Florida and I myself reside in Mobile Alabama, about an hour from them. 

I played a show where October Noir was on the same bill, when I was in another band. They were having issues with their drummer, issues we won’t discuss, but Tom took a shine to my style, as I was a huge fan of his work. When the time came, they cut ties with the former guy and I stepped in. Both Tom and I share the same vision, so it was a fresh start for the band. 

•Who are your favourite artists/bands and how have they influenced your own sound?

My favorite artists are HIM/VV(Ville Valo), Type O Negative, Crowbar, Woods of Ypres, Swallow The Sun and Demon Hunter. 

I’ve recently began loving everything that an off and on band mate of mine is doing, in his band Oracle. 

All of the bands I mention have one thing in common: Emotion. 

In all their albums, you’re forced to open up and feel the lyrics and melodies/slamming riffs. Those are the bands that have influenced me in the writing and live show of October Noir. 

•Did you always have the ambition to be a musician and in a band or did you originally have other plans?

I still have a day job. It’s foolish to think that, in this day and age, you’ll pay the bills off of music solely. 

But yes, I’ve always aspired to be a musician. I had a full scholarship out of high school playing in a performing band at the college I attended. But I also was in 5 or 6 bands, learning and writing music before I was 25. It’s always been the dream of mine, and that dream will never fade. 

•What songs or albums are on your current playlist?

That feels like an impossible question to answer. 

I’ve been really listening to the new singles Demon Hunter are dropping for their album Exile. 

I’ve been listening to a lot of Love and Death (HEAD of Korn’s side project), as well as the new Korn Album. 

My buddy Matt of the band Afterdusk, I’ve been deep diving into them. 

The album Perseverance by Oracle. 

A lot of HIM, Woods of Ypres, and Crowbar. Just saw Kirk and Tommy of Crowbar last weekend and we had a hell of a time.    

•Do you sing in the shower?

I do not actually. Mostly in the truck driving around during a work day. 

•Do you have any plans for the band for this year and into next year?

Absolutely. We are currently writing a new album. We have two songs ready for that, plus maybe a collaboration with Myke Hideous of the Misfits/Empire Hideous. We just dropped a single with Denis Pauna that was done a few months back. The former lead guitarists of Woods of Ypres, and good friend of mine, is very interested to jump on a song for this next album. The possibilities are endless. But we plan to keep writing and hopefully deliver an album for the ages. 

•Do you currently have any new songs/albums ready to be released?

We have 3 songs that are feeling done. But we like to keep things under wraps until it’s time. One will be released as a single in the coming month. 

•If you could play at any venue in the world where would you choose?

Tavastia In Finland. That place is a national treasure of venues and it’s deeply enshrined with bands like HIM, The 69 Eyes, and so on. 

•Do you have a favourite album? If so, what is it?

Impossible. I’ll name a few.

Guilty Pleasures for me are everything William Control has ever done, mixed with Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division, and the entire Morrissey/The Smiths collection  

•If you were putting together the greatest show on earth, who would be playing?

Open it up with old school CKY, followed by Crowbar, then have DOWN come out for a few songs. Next band is Demon Hunter, followed by Korn. After Korn, we get Seventh Void, then October Noir plays a set and Type O Negative finished out the night. 

That’s just a dream of couirse. 

•Can you remember the first album you bought with your own money? What was it and do you still have it?

First album I ever bought was probably A Better Life by 3 Doors Down, followed by Seether’s first album Disclaimer. 

Funny story is 3DD are from my area. I got to spend many evenings with Matt Roberts, Lead guitarist of 3DD. He became a great friend. I drummed for a band that was led by his brother and his guitar tech. Memories that I will cherish forever. That band is still signed to Origin Records, here In Mobile Alabama. The band is called Even Still and we had a blast on stage. 

•As your fans will be reading this, is there any message you would like to send out to them?

The only thing I can say, is if you are a fan of mine, or October Noir, thank you so much. I receive messages all the time that are so positive and I build friendships with many people that are fans of ours. I’m truly grateful to be in this position. Can you tell us about the origin of the band name, a history of the band and a little bit about the various members?

I came up with the name for this project by combining the word primate and the suffix –tron, because I wanted it to reflect the increasing interconnection and dependence between us and the machines we rely on to live and do basically everything. This is a project that had been waiting to happen for some time, since I first came up with a few songs trying to mix the heaviness of industrial metal and the roughness of other heavy music genres.

It has been so far a solo project, but other musicians may eventually get involved. In Primatron’s latest release, a single called “Desensitized”, Renato Maffei –  a great bass player from the state of São Paulo in Brazil – took part. My next single has already been recorded, but for the one following that, another bass player by the name of Eduardo Forville (from the bands Urvolk and Shadow Maze from Curitiba, Brazil), is likely to join in.

I’ve always loved heavy music and have postponed this project for years, but now that it’s finally gained traction and has gotten some attention, I believe it will be going on for a long time.

Are you all from the same area? How did you get together as a band?

(I believe this question has lost its meaning after learning this is a solo project )

Who are your favourite artists/bands and how have they influenced your own sound?

I have always liked many artists in many genres in metal, but I’d have to say that Rammstein, Megadeth, Paradise Lost and Anathema have probably influenced me the most.

Did you always have the ambition to be a musician and in a band or did you originally have other plans?

I work as a public servant for my state and have been doing do for 13 years now. I work in forensics, specifically with forensic vehicle identification. I used to be an English teacher before that, which I was for around six years. But I’ve always loved music and had always dreamt of being a musician. I’m extremely happy to finally have ventured into this field.

What songs or albums are on your current playlist?

Well, as I’ve just released my first EP, I have to confess I’m still a bit enamoured with it and still listen to it sort of often. But I’ve also been listening a lot to Leprous’s ”Coal”, Rammstein’s “Zeit”, Diablo Swing Orchestra’s “Pandora’s Piñata” and Hangman’s Chair’s “Banlieue Triste”.

Do you sing in the shower?

Haha I do. It’s a great place to come up with melodies for the songs I’ve been writing.

Do you have any plans for the band for this year and into next year?

Yes, certainly. I intend to release a few more singles this year and possibly put together a longer album by 2023. But I have to say I’m still figuring out what works best, if releasing song by song or actually putting out an entire album at once. It seems to me that people don’t listen to whole albums so often these days, so I might keep on just making singles for a while.

Do you currently have any new songs/albums ready to be released?

I’ve just released a song called “Desensitized”, as I mentioned earlier. Its lyrics deal with how we seem to have become impervious to excitement from being so constantly overwhelmed by new stimuli, to the point we need to see more and more new things on social media all the time – otherwise we just get bored with everything.

If you could play at any venue in the world where would you choose?

I think Wacken, for the history it has.

Do you have a favourite album? If so, what is it?

Probably Megadeth’s Rust in Peace. I think it is the best metal record ever. So intricate and yet, captivating.

Do you have any guilty pleasure songs/albums?

Hahaha. I don’t feel guilty about liking anything, I think we need input from all possible sorts of music in order to make something new and interesting.  Or maybe I’m just hiding behind that excuse so that I keep those guilty pleasures a secret.

If you were putting together the greatest show on earth, who would be playing?

Megadeth, Judas Priest, Rammstein, Leprous, Anathema, Paradise Lost, Type O Negative (can I mention bands that don’t exist anymore?), Diablo Swing Orchestra, Septicflesh… Those are the ones that come to my  mind right now.

Can you remember the first album you bought with your own money? What was it and do you still have it?

I can’t remember exactly what it was, but the first that I remember  is Anathema’s Serenades. Yes I do still have it and I still love it.

As your fans will be reading this, is there any message you would like to send out to them?

Lots of people talk a lot of shit about rock and metal being dead, or about how there aren’t good bands anymore. That’s bullshit. Even though metal doesn’t get that much media attention anymore, that doesn’t mean there aren’t great bands popping up everywhere in the world – it just means we have to go beyond what media serves us to find great music being made right now in all corners of the world.

Can you tell us about the origin of the band name, a history of the band and a little bit about the various members?

A long time ago in a dimension not too far away, there was a battle of the bands, of which we lost, after a short fishing trip for us to relax and unwind, there may or may not have been a nuclear apocalypse that we had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH…

Upon returning from our “fishing trip” we found a land that was altered, corrupt and full of nasty insects that made Australia look like a petting zoo.

Through many trials and tales we discovered a interdimesional gate (which Grunt thought was a toaster) and presto, your dimension opened up, we crossed over here and thus an “Incursion” of your dimension had begun roughly in 2015.

Our merry trio consists of Fox (guitars/vocals), Griff (drums and keeper of time) and Grunt (bass and although considered a giant in our dimension, he’s about average height here, so he’s now Mini Grunt)

Since your 2015 we have performed up and down the UK, along with bands such as Psychostick, Red Method, Make Them Suffer and on line ups for Hammerfest 13, The Road to Ruin and Eradication Festival. We released our first EP “Scourge” in 2018 to a great reception and two more singles since!

Are you all from the same area? How did you get together as a band?

Originally yes, but now we are scattered across South and West Wales as to not disturb the space time continuum too much. And magnets if I recall correctly.

Who are your favourite artists/bands and how have they influenced your own sound?

Devin Townsend, DevilDriver, Ill Nino, MachineHead, Slayer, Mick Gordon with the Doom 2016 soundtrack and that up and coming band Metallica.

Devin for the broadest answer showed us that you can have a range and that being goofy isn’t a bad thing either.

Did you always have the ambition to be a musician and in a band or did you originally have other plans?

Nope, was supposed to be curing life threatening diseases in our dimension, but that battle went south pretty quick.

Here we’ve always wanted to play music to have fun with it and audiences, the world gets so bleak at times that you need idiots like us to bring a smile even if it’s laughing at us

Can you tell us about the origin of the band name, a history of the band and a little bit about the various members?

We (Dan and Rob) had a band in high school and continued making music and writing songs for some more years. After playing in different band and with different musicians, we started working in “normal” jobs and stopped making music. 20 years later we attended a concert of the band Shinedown and asked ourselves why we stopped making music and decided to write songs again. That was the beginning of the band “20 Year Short Break”, because it felt like we stopped writing songs just for a short period of time.

Are you all from the same area? How did you get together as a band?

We are both based in Munich and have found other band members in the Munich area.

Who are your favourite artists/bands and how have they influenced your own sound?

We started writing songs with country music influences (artists like Brantley Gilbert, Chris Stapleton and Luke Bryan). But we’re mostly influenced by bands like Shinedown, Foo Fighters, Muse and 30 Seconds to Mars, which is especially noticeable on the newer tracks.

Did you always have the ambition to be a musician and in a band or did you originally have other plans?

As children we certainly started with the dream of becoming musicians. But later in life we decided to do more “normal” jobs. But the passion for music and storytelling never stopped. And now we are back to our dreams of the past and we have plans to play concerts and festivals.

What songs or albums are on your current playlist?

Shinedown’s Album Planet Zero, Falling in Reverse, I Prevail, Black Stone Cherry and Cory Marks

Do you sing in the shower?

Always, and in the car.

Do you have any plans for the band for this year and into next year?

We are going to release new songs and try to find a label for better promotion. And of course.. 2023 will be our year of concerts. We just found the perfect band members and love to see how the songs sound in live versions.

The next release will be our song “Bring it on”. It´s a very energetic song about the struggles and fights in life and how we deal with them.

If you could play at any venue in the world where would you choose?

In Germany we would love to play at “Rock im Park” or “Rock am Ring”. And the biggest dream is to go on tour with Shinedown someday.

You’re talking to Ben the vocalist from IMPERIUM 

Can you tell us about the origin of the band name, a history of the band and a little bit about the various members?

It took us ages to finally choose our name, we wanted something that explained our music on one word and Hardip, our lead guitarist, smashed it when he said IMPERIUM. The other members are Scott, our Rhythm, Jean-Raphael our bassist and James our drummer.

Are you all from the same area? How did you get together as a band?

4 of us went to the same school, all in different years but had a connection through heavy metal. Jean-Raphael moved to the UK from Hong Kong a while ago and just made the band complete in seconds of us watching him play and getting to know him.

 Who are your favourite artists/bands and how have they influenced your own sound?

We’re influenced by a lot of music, but mainly pre 2000s thrash metal. Just feels real and timeless… 

Did you always have the ambition to be a musician and in a band or did you originally have other plans?

No I didn’t, I knew the two guitarists a long time before they asked me to try vocals, I actually tried to learn guitar from them in the first place! We have such a good connection all of us that when James joined the band as a drummer I said I’d give it a go… I was terrible, but I found my place and sound when we started creating our own music.

 What songs or albums are on your current playlist?

The bands I’m banging out at the moment are Exodus, municipal waste, machine head, slayer megadeath… a ton more but yeah I jump about a lot listening to stuff .

Do you sing in the shower?

Haha I don’t sing in the shower, I think In the shower… constantly thinking on the bands next move or one of the other 8000 things I need to do.

Do you have any plans for the band for this year and into next year?

We’ve just played Bloodstock, so looking to see what that can bring, but we’re booking a few show runs, releasing our EP on Spotify in September after our physical release and booking up festivals for next year!

We’ve got tons of music lined up so looking at recording early next year! 

If you could play at any venue in the world where would you choose?

Well, we wanna play bloodstock again! That festival is amazing! After that, Hellfest would be a big one! And wacken open air!

Weird one but I genuinely listen to killadelphia by lamb of god as an album every now and then… it’s an incredible live album and I don’t really dig live tunes to much… so yeah, not thrash but I’d go with that.

Nah nothings guilty here… I’ll listen to morbid angel in the same hour as some minimal techno… apart from chart shit I genuinely will listen to most sounds

Can you tell us about the origin of the band name, a history of the band and a little bit about the various members?

Hi, I’m Chemel Neme, vocalist for Kill City, thanks for the interview !

The name of the band is actually a reference to our city: Guayaquil, which in english would sound like “Why a kill”, thus Kill City. 

Luis (our drummer) and I, are brothers. I’ve been in music for almost 20 years now and Luis used to be in a band some 20 years ago. However curious it seems, this is the first time we are in the same band. Other two of the members, Juan and Xavier (guitars), were at different times on and off,  in a band with me as well for the past 20 years. Finally, Andres, our bass player, was friends with Xavier. He used to play with “Intrépidos” a very popular latin pop band in our country Ecuador. I’m not sure where he got his bass playing chops from, but he is great both playing and composing.

Are you all from the same area? How did you get together as a band?

Yes, everyone from Guayaquil, and long time friends. When I left my previous band, I wanted to try some different style of music, and called the best the musicians I could think of, that were also my friends. The first time we got together for playing it was amazing… 2 years later, we are already releasing our second album and a third one is already composed.

Who are your favourite artists/bands and how have they influenced your own sound?

In my case, I like very different styles of music. With the exception of Reggeton, I can appreciate all genres of music, my favorite being rock. My influences for singing would be Michael Kiske and Pavarotti, not that I want to sing opera style, but my training has always being Bel Canto.

Regarding bands, we all love all bands like Judas Priest, Helloween, AC/DC, The Cure, Def Leppard, Soda Stereo, Beatles, Bowie, Queen, America, Jim Croce, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Rammstein; Guitar players like Dave Mustaine, James Hetfield, David Gilmour, Adrian Smith, Gary Moore, Doug Aldrich and Classical Music as well … quite an Eclectic mix. Juan even has a knack for extreme kinds of metal.

All this very extensive taste for music, has influenced the way we composed our own stuff.

Did you always have the ambition to be a musician and in a band or did you originally have other plans?

I believe we all felt attracted to music in one way or another from early on in our life. I think when you have this love for some form of art, you end up related to it in one way or another. That’s what happened to all of us, each with their own different story.

What songs or albums are on your current playlist?

Too many to list! Apart from composing, playing, recording, I usually listen to music while driving. Since we play rock, try listening to something different in the car, some 70s music, some latin stuff. I always do listen to any new stuff from Rammstein or Helloween for example.

Do you sing in the shower?

I did before becoming a singer !!!

Do you have any plans for the band for this year and into next year?

For this year, releasing our second Album “Civilized to Death” on September 1st. At the same date, a video for one of our songs called “Mujer Vampiro”, directed by Marco Vera who also directed our video for “Another Fn Love Song” from this same album. He does an amazing job. We got a couple of live gigs here in our Country for this year, and probably some shows in Mexico next year, which are yet to be confirmed.

Yes, as mentioned before, our second album to be released September 1st 2022, which is called “Civilized to Death”.

If you could play at any venue in the world where would you choose?

Without any doubts, Wacken Open Air.

It changes with time; but there are several favorites. The Helloween Keepers, Judas Painkiller and Defenders of the Faith, Def Leppard Hysteria, Metallica Master of Puppets to name a few.

Do you have any guilty pleasure songs/albums?

Not really, I like all the music that I listen to and I’m shameless ahahahah. Juan Luis Guerra for example is Bachata, and I totally love his “Bachata Rosa” album.

If you were putting together the greatest show on earth, who would be playing?

That’s a hard question, and I do like so many different genres. Mercury would be there singing, as well as Michael Jackson and some Dio for bite, Ozzy too. Some Elvis too! I’d have Gilmour and Randy Rhoads. As a drummer, Neil Pert for a part of the show and Dave Porcaro for some others. Paul Mcartney would be playing Bass. I don’t know what would come out that crew !

Can you remember the first album you bought with your own money? What was it and do you still have it?

I think it was Poison Look what the cat dragged in. But I traded it later with a friend for a Maiden album. I did listen to a very large selection of music before that, composed of 70s stuff that my father had in LPs.
