The Fullmåne (eng. Fullmoon) project started in 2017, after Mad Moonshine Mattis left the thrash-punk band Enter Obscurity. He wanted to make something purely his own and simply have something to do. So he learned to play drums, bass, sing (not really) plus record, mix and promote from scratch. Originally a guitarist, Mattis is greatly influenced by early black metal and punk/hardcore, but he also wants to take that old-school sound further by adding atmosphere …and not in the shiny way. He is influenced by some hip hop, in particular beats with horror movie samples and electronic noise and psychedelic rock.
Here’s how Mattis describes the ideas behind Fullmåne; “This is not black metal by the book, I hate how the genre has become a big circus with everybody copying a stereotype of the scene. It was supposed to be free, without limits and from an honest urge to make something scary yet real. Now everyone is either staying true to the past or making it into shiny emo pop. Either losing touch with the underground DIY roots of the genre or stagnating in a sound that was new in the 90s, basically copying the classics. Fullmåne is honest, its raw and its not safe. But is also an old-school worship of «the true» whatever.”

THE UNRELEASED… With this second (and final) volume, THRASHBACK RECORDS is pleased to bring you what was to be the second wave of 7” vinyl releases on the Florida based A.R.T. Records label. Three of these releases were splits with the concept being to present opposing styles within the Death Metal genre.
ROYAL ANGUISH / THE RISEN: This collection begins with two tracks that were exclusively recorded for the vinyl release. Florida versus New York style Death Metal is what’s on hand. OBLATION / DERACINATION: Here we have Florida inspired Death Metal (by way of Texas) versus a Napalm Death influenced assault from Down Under. This version of “Death By Fire” was exclusively recorded for the 7” release and is far more brutal than the version on their debut album “Times Of Atrocity” that preceded it.
FAITHFUL WITNESS / MANSOUL: East Coast Death Metal versus a blend of Florida Death Metal and Megadeth inspired Thrash riffing.
FINAL PROPHECY: The sole non-split release. Both tracks are exclusive 7” remixes. These remixes were not included on the “Re-Awakening” released which we licensed to Roxx Records in 2018.
This 2020 reissue features all 4 titles in their entirety, fully remastered by Rob Colwell of Bombworks Sound from the original DAT masters, and an 8-page booklet. This special release also features 2 bonus tracks, one each from Royal Anguish and Faithful Witness. “Imagine walking through a dark, pine scented, tangled, forest at night. A large, sadistic, haunting moon glares down at you through gnarled twisted tree branches. Your hair starts to rise as you hear the far off howl of a lone wolf. You shudder, silently thankful that it is so far off.The shudder turns to panic as you hear an answering chorus, this time closer, and from all around you. You realize there is something standing outlined in the darkness, watching you from the hill ahead. Something eight feet tall, heavily muscled, and with the head of a wolf………”The single includes two tracks. The first track, “Lycanthropy” is a Meshuggah-like, grinding, energetic track about Lycanthropy and the bloody, grisly, horror of a werewolf enslaved by the moon’s insatiable bloodlust, rampaging through the darkened woods on a moonlit night causing death and destruction to all he encounters. The Second track is a cover of HIM’s Soul of Fire. Lycanthropy is a tale set in a High Fantasy Middle Earth, Medieval, Elder Scrolls Skyrim like land. Our protagonist travels from afar and descends to a small majestic, walled medieval town set among gigantic misty snowcapped mountains, under dark grey skies. Having been chased through the dark rainy night by a terrifyingly fast, large and muscled werewolf. And having just barely escaped with his life, he discovers that the town lives in fear and is haunted by a Lycanthrope. People who have strayed beyond the village walls during the full moon have been found torn to pieces, their bodies a bloody mess. Our hero begins helping the townsfolk solve the mystery, who are suspicious of a newly arrived wrinkly, bearded, wizard clad in ragged grey. Horror, Gore, Adventure, Love and Chaos Ensue.
The music and lyrics delve into a wide range of emotion and explore fantasy concepts of the supernatural, lycanthropy, high fantasy, and horror, touching on exploration, loss, healing, ascension, power, life and death.

Well we made it to the end of the year, and what a crazy year it has been. Aside from all the craziness, Roxx Records still kept the music coming with almost 40 new releases this year. Many of which have been brand new artists and brand new music. And we are not quite done yet….Roxx Records is excited to announce our last full release for 2020 the brand new release from Atlanta’s very own Motivik. How do you say Motivik? (MOE-TEE-VICK) what does Motivik mean? Motivik is derived from the word Motive. And what is the Motive of Motivik? To rock you hard with a message of hope and encouragement for a lost generation.
Motivik features Ryan Roebuck handling the music and vocals and Courtney Simmons on vocals. That’s right dual vocalists, modeled in a way much like Gary Lenaire and Guy Ritter from Tourniquet except they pretty evenly share the vocal duties. If you ask Motivik what there sound is like or what their style is they would say they are ‘Melodic Groove Thrash’. A little more on the thrashy side if you ask us, especially when you listen to the bands cover song from Sacrament ‘Souls in Torment’ featuring a guest appearance from Sacrament’s very own Robert Wolfe.
Well we are happy to be bringing you the bands debut full length effort entitled, “Death of the Gunman” and it will be coming your way before the end of 2020! If you love thrash, groove, doom and rock all spun together and cooked up with catchy hooks be sure to pick up a copy!
The first single and lyric video are out now and have recently been serviced to magazine and radio. Check out the first single ‘Away’ and request it wherever they play hard and heavy Christian music.

Driving, unrelenting, intense and melodic. These are the four sonic pillars that North Carolina-based Black Metal artist Nihilum builds his sound around. The extremely religious environment that he grew up around played a pivotal role in shaping his musical tastes into what it is today, eventually discovering Black Metal, and finally finding the genre that embodies the essence that he set out to find since the beginning. He was immediately hooked to the metal genre as a child after listening to ‘Frayed Ends Of Sanity‘ on Kansas City’s rock station ‘Mandatory Metallica‘ show. Additionally, his unfaltering passion for music serves as a coping mechanism for Nihilum. Above all, it’s his commitment and love for the genre that drives him forward in his life.
With influences such as Watain, Mayhem, MGLA, Darkthrone, Marduk, Behemoth, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Cattle Decapitation, and many more. The stories and themes that he paints with his music revolve around the marriage of sci fi, horror, and Satanism all coalesced into one.

As an independent artist, Nihilum released his debut EP “Call of the Void” on June 11th 2020. It’s a five-track EP that captures the sound that Nihilum has wanted to push ever since he heard that first Metallica song as a child. The ultimate goal for Nihilum? Create the music that he loves, spark the passion that was set ablaze by himself as a child, and of course, to make fans head bang like there’s no tomorrow.
