Memoira is set to release their third studio album ‘Carnival of Creation’ on September 25th 2020 via Inverse Records. The band released a new single and music video for the title track. Watch Carnival of Creation music video:
The band comments: “Carnival of Creation must be one of the most epic songs we have ever written. The lyrical theme is about discovering the art, the music, literature and everything that requires creative thought process. How everything develops through history and how the styles vary in different cultures. It’s a rollercoaster of a song that dives within creative thinking, where everything is like this huge market square where you can come across with a plethora of creative ideas. We are really happy how the song turned out and it describes the album perfectly.”
MEMOIRA hails from Pori/Jyväskylä, Finland, playing symphonic/ gothic metal. Already released two albums world wide (Memoira 2009 through Nightmare records and Memories, Tragedies, Masquerades 2012 as a self-release) and after a four-year hiatus, the band is releasing their third album Carnival Of Creation through Inverse Records. In addition to the previously released two singles “Dawn Of Time” and “Queen Element”, the band released a new single of the title track “Carnival Of Creation”, which is also accompanied by a music video. MEMOIRA is known for it’s melancholic melodies and powerful guitar riffs, combining symphonic atmosphere with beautiful female vocals by Annika Jalkanen (FOR SELENA AND SIN). The guitars are handled by Hannu Lindholm (DARK TONE COMPANY) and the founding member Jani Puusa. The other founding member is behind the keyboards and piano, Lassi Nuolivaara. The lower end on bass is handled by Niko Laaksonen (RANDY RECKLESS, BLOWTORCH, RORSCHACH) and the drums are being handled by Matti Virtanen (DARK TONE COMPANY, CONCRETE WORDS, ANOMALY).
Mockcharge started as a solo project by the Brazilian lead singer and multi- instrumentalist Ed Marson . After working in Sao Paulo with the legendary audio engineer and music producer Roy Cicala for almost 6 years, Ed came to NYC to work at the IIWII Sound Studio . There, Marson worked with legendary musicians as an audio engineer, roadie or backline tech for bands such as Gojira , Fuel , Jeff Beck, The Kills, The Blues Brothers, Living Colour and Foreigner to name a few.
During working nights as a backline tech and engineer at the IIWII Sound studio in Weehawken, NJ , Ed used his studio “down-time” to record and develop his own music. Playing guitar, bass, drums, synths, and samplers, he recorded, mixed, mastered and released Mockcharge’s first three singles, “ Creature of the Underworld ”, “ Darkside ” and “ Bloody Days ”. The bass player Tatiana Turin , born and raised in NYC, joined Mockcharge right after the “ Darkside ” release in July 2019. Tatiana is also a recognized pedal builder, creating custom pedals for guitar and bass bringing a new sound to the band.
Mockcharge debuted at the acclaimed Arlene’s Grocery on September 16th of 2019. Mockcharge performed with Vinny Silva on drums as a one off accompanied by Tatiana Turin on the bass. Mockcharge still needed to find a drummer to join the band officially. Right after the show, Ed met Donnie Hogue and, long story short, Donnie came to his first rehearsal with Mockcharge at Battalion Studios and killed it. The power trio was complete.
The band moved quickly to play their music at various metal and rock venues in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island. The band’s fierce and energetic live performances propelled them onto stages of the most acclaimed metal venues in NYC, including a memorable show at Kingsland in October 2019 with the legendary band Carnivore A.D .. On December 1st, Mockcharge announced it’s strong presence in the New York metal scene by headlining at the renowned Saint Vitus Bar , considered one of the best metal venues in NYC, hosting performances of bands such as Megadeth , Dave Grohl, Obituary, Converge, Gojira and many more.
Right after the show the band went to the studio on December 13th of 2019 to record their first album to be released in early 2020.
The album included 12 original songs composed and produced by Mockcharge , recorded live in 2 days at IIWII Studios, in Weehawken NJ ; an amazing recording facility that hosted bands such as Black Sabbath, Jeff Beck, Rolling Stones and many more. Recorded by Billy Perez , who worked with the Rolling Stones, St Vincent, Living Colour and many others, brought the sound that the band was looking for; raw, straight forward 90’s metal.
The lead singer and guitarist Ed Marson mixed and mastered all the songs while the band kept playing shows in NY and being invited to festivals all around the world until Covid-19 hit NY. The band cancelled all the future shows, including a performance at the B owery Electric with amazing bands such as Atomic Love and Mora Tau.
As the band couldn’t book any more shows because of the pandemic in NYC, Mockcharge decided to release each song of the album every 3 weeks on all streaming platforms.
The first single “ Marauder ” was released on June 26th, followed by the “ Nosferatu ” on July 17th. Check it out now on all streaming platforms!
The band is releasing a new single every 3 weeks, while they wait for the pandemic to end, planning to go on tour in 2021 in Europe and South America.
Italian power metallers From The Depth are sharing their second single “Immortal” off their second full-length album “Moments” set for release on August 28, 2020 via Rockshots Records. The track features guest keyboards by Dave Castro and Oreste Giacomini along with the ending choir vocal line by Alessandro Karabelas.
The band adds:
“This is the song that was the most ”anticipated” by fans during our latest live shows and then became a must in every setlist. It’s a real hymn with its solid main riff and keyboard melodies. During the last stages of production, we finalized everything with the choir, recorded with all our vocalist friends, and we got exactly what we were looking for… a majestic arrangement for a solid metal riffing.”

Entitled “Moments”, the full length is a series of personal occasions in the band members’ lives that they are reliving through their music, from hard times to the anniversary of the group forming. Each aspect of the production has been taken care of with extreme attention to detail from song structure to the final master; nothing has been left to chance and we did our best to get out the most from each session during songwriting.”
After years of hard times, they are now fully operational with a killer stable lineup, and with the new partnership with Rockshots Records, From the Depth is ready to show fans what they have been working on. Symphonic power metal band Ravenword has just unleashed the new lyric video for “Purity”, the third single off their one-time studio album “Transcendence”, released in Europe/North America via Rockshots Records and in Japan via Rubicon Music this past January. “Purity” starts off with Italian lyrics accompanied only by piano then builds into a super-melodic symphonic metal track with epic choirs.

Inspired by the Edgar Allan Poe’s novel ‘The Raven’, the Milan, Italy based band was originally formed in 2007 by the mind of keyboardist and composer Davide Scuteri (Choirs Of Veritas). After several years of activity, which included a self-titled demo, the band went on a brief hiatus, re-grouping in 2016 when singer Chiara Tricarico (Sound Storm, Moonlight Haze), drummer Michele Olmi (Chronosfear, Skeletoon) and bass/guitar player Cesare Ferrari (Choirs Of Veritas) joined the band, in order to create a one-time studio album that embodies the whole history of the band.
With “Transcendence”, Ravenword captures the romantic and decadent poetic themes typical of Edgar Allan Poe’s period, combined with an equally decadent symphonic metal sound. In line with Ravenword’s ode to poetry, the title “Transcendence” was chosen to symbolize the idea of always going beyond one’s perception of reality and seeking deeper meanings.

Well known in their home country of Ecuador and South America for supporting bands like Judas Priest, Kreator, Firewind (Immortals Tour 2018), Edguy, UDO, and more. Heavy metal trio Black Sun will be releasing theirnew EP “Silent Enemy” on September 4, 2020, via Rockshots Records. The EP follows the band’s three previous albums “The Pupetteer” (2017), “Dance of Elders” (2010), and “Tyrant From a Foreign Land” (2015).
During the production of Black Sun‘s new material, the band parted ways with their longtime lead singer. Under the guidance of the EP’s producer Nino Laurenne (Emma Winner – Finnish Grammy, Hevisaurus, Amorphis, The Rasmus), Black Sun found ways to complete the EP with guest singers on all the tracks. Guests include Finnish metal legends and talents like Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica), Lordi, Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast), Pasi Rantanen (Thunderstone), Elias Viljanen (Sonata Arctica ), Netta Laurenne (Smackbound), Jukka Pelkonen (Omnium Gatherum), Asim Searah (Wintersun/Damnation Plan), Topias Kupiainen (Arion), Henning Basse (Firewind), Petri Lindroos (Ensiferum / Norther) and JF Aguirre (JF Aguirre Project). All come together to create a powerful and catchy metal hymn.
The band adds:
“This EP is a new beginning for Black Sun, the tracks were written during the touring period for the last album. However, during the production and recording sessions, the former singer was removed from the band. Consequently, the songs changed, the band had more flexibility and freedom on where to take these songs. Hence, the featuring of many different singers is what makes this EP unique. We can’t tell you exactly what will happen next, but we can guarantee this is only the beginning of an exciting new chapter, a rebirth that will bring much more music soon enough.”Today, the band is sharing their third single “Terror Zone” featuring guest vocals from Henning Basse (ex-Firewind, ex-Mayan, ex-Sons Of Seasons). The band comments:
“An aggressive Judas Priest-like beat with energetic and thundering vocals from Henning Basse. This song illustrates what one might feel during a war-zone, even if that war-zone is inside your mind.”

Montreal’s Homicide have a new album “Left For Dead” that is ready to take the world by storm on August 21st, 2020; the first offering since the band went dark 25 years ago. “Scourge of God” is the first single off the album and the sonic grand entrance Homicide makes back into the metal scene.
What has been coined as “apocalyptic thrash” is coming back for fans and Homicide states it is like the first album, but on steroids. With a considerable amount of experience under their belts, this new album promises to be an instant classic. A no holds barred tour de force. The band shares the premise and musical intricacies behind the single:
“It gets things off to a fine start and is a reminder of just how good the storytelling style of vocalist Gabriel Morency is as he delivers a tale of the wrath of God. Mid-tempo evil chugs keep things going nicely and the riffs pay homage to the Bay Area Thrash scene with a nostalgic tooth gap grin while that whammy bar drop is a nice touch. It’s one of those tracks that cuts at a point when it could happily go on for another few minutes and that’s always the hallmark of quality.”
This is the soundtrack for listeners who are looking to conquer the world. Whether you’re driving, working out, or just looking for something to bang your head to, the fast and furious stylings of Homicide are going to hit the spot.

ACID REIGN bassist Pete Dee has started a justgiving campaign to raise money Bloodstock Festival‘s nominated charity partner MIND.
Hi, I’m Pete. I play bass for the UK Thrash Metal band Acid Reign.
We were due to play Bloodstock Festival in August, but as you all know it has been postponed til 2021 along with everything else.
I have decided that if I can’t play any live gigs this year and entertain people then I want to do something for Bloodstock’s nominated charity partner MIND instead.
If we can raise £2,000 by Saturday August 15, 2020 I will cut my beard off live on Facebook!
Please donate generously, we know things are tight at the moment but a lot of people will benefit from MIND’s work in the coming months as we get through lockdown.
