Chilean death-doom cult DEVS MORTVORVM will unleash their new EP on June 6, 2025 via Apocalyptic Productions, delivering a putrid sermon steeped in the stench of traditional death metal and the mournful crawl of doomed melodies.
The first single “Love for the Dead” is now streaming HERE.
Formed in 2015 by David Briones (guitar) and Claudio Carrasco (vocals), DEVS MORTVORVM emerged with a clear mission: to play Graveyard Doom Death, inspired by legendary acts such as Goatlord, Derketa, early Cathedral and Autopsy. The band is now completed by Andrés Henríquez on drums and Felipe Vuletich on bass, bringing even more weight and rot to their already imposing sound.
This upcoming EP features five tracks—three original compositions, a crushing cover of “Acid Orgy” by U.S. cult legends Goatlord, and a raw live track that captures the band’s visceral stage presence. Every aspect of this release – lyrics, artwork, and music – is a unified expression of DEVS MORTVORVM’s devotion to the morbid spirit of doom-death and necrolatry.
Musically, the EP offers an enticing blend of shadow-drenched, vicious death-doom, where sludgy riffs clash and intertwine with serpentine melodies, creating a dynamic tension that keeps each track unpredictable and alive. It’s a masterclass in sonic decay, where every note drips with the dampness of the tomb.

Locus Noir is the latest endeavor from singer Ben DMN, best known as the former frontman of the Swiss Industrial/Groove Metal juggernaut Sybreed, and is the result of a deeply personal journey, driven by his aspiration to reconnect with the music that inspired him during his formative years and to rekindle his passion for songwriting and live performances.
Drawing inspiration from iconic acts like Type O Negative and Fields of the Nephilim, Locus Noir’s sound radiates a dark and evocative energy. The music also incorporates brooding atmospheres reminiscent of Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride and the raw edge of Gothic Rock, resulting in a cohesive soundscape that offers both a fresh perspective and a timeless interpretation of what Gothic Metal can be.
This venture also marks a significant evolution in Ben’s vocal style, as he now fully embraces haunting melodic vocals that merge Peter Murphy’s theatrical flair with a depth reminiscent of Depeche Mode. The lyrics traverse contrasting realms, delving into themes both esoteric and carnal, often laced with irony: love, death, lust, and the bitter taste of parties that linger past dawn. Ultimately, Locus Noir serves as a sincere homage to the Gothic subculture.
Ben comments “I am simply thrilled to be working with Listenable Records again. It’s a team I’ve known for a long time and hold in high regard: they played a key role in Sybreed’s career and have always demonstrated a highly collaborative approach, which is in line with my own work ethos and was one of my non-negotiable conditions when I decided to return to music as an active artist. I also know that there is a real cultural affinity that will facilitate our exchanges. So I was very happy when they told me they wanted to sign Locus Noir after I contacted them, and I know I can count on the Listenable Records team, especially since they see as much potential in this new band as I do. This makes me very confident – and as optimistic as one can be when playing this kind of music – about the release of Locus Noir’s debut album, Shadow Sun, and the next steps in this new musical adventure.“
Initially conceived as a solo project with contributions from both long-standing and new friends, Locus Noir is poised to evolve into a full-fledged live band, ready to carve out its niche in the Metal landscape.
Locus Noir’s debut album’ Shadow Sun’ is due for release in 2026 on Listenable Records.
Fort Wayne (IN) – U.S. Progressive/Power Metal band, EchoSoul, are set to release their much anticipated sophomore album, Time of the Dragon, on May 15 through No Dust Records.
Three singles from the forthcoming album have been released: “Die Demon Die,” “Hollowed Ground,” “Sister Suicide,” and “The Path of the Righteous.”
EchoSoul songs take the listener on a ride through solid chugging and fast and alternate picking, mixed with plenty of scale runs, harmonies and complex type riffing that draw you in. Lots of solos to leave you complete. Every song at its core has a melodic or catchy chorus and some memorable take aways leaving you singing it later in the day.
Whether you’re a Power Metal fan or into Thrash, there is something for everyone. A perfect fusion of Power and Prog Metal! On Time of the Dragon, look for some of what you came to love on the first album, along with Rob back on Vox and Guy’s guitars, in filling in, Randy Walton and Tyler Witte. Some guests include Andy LaRoque (Kings Diamond) and Joseph Michael (Sanctuary, Witherfall)
Guitarist/founder, Guy Hinton, offers his thoughts on the upcoming album:
“On our sophomore album, we dug into the writing process a little deeper. We have goneheavier and yet even more melodic. There was some more collaboration, and we had one of the best guitarists in metal on ‘Hollowed Ground,’ Andy LaRocque (King Diamond). Some of the album lyrically is a story and concept about the end of days, the rise and fall of the dragon, and its sway on the world. A variety of topics about real tragedy, the battle of suicide, some about political intrigue, conspiracy, and anthems that hit hard. There was a little pressure with following up the debut album The End Of Darkness, which manged to make the Top 10 in Germany and got a ton of good press internationally. Originally scheduled to come out a year ago, the war in Ukraine made it difficult for final production to be done by our friend who lives in the center of the conflict.”

There are many perspectives here…so I’ll let everyone decide for themselves what Tombstone is for them.”

“Beatdown Syndrome” is the savage new single from Belgian goregrind powerhouse BRUTAL SPHINCTER. The song is the latest single preceding the band’s gnarled new album, “Sphinct-Earth Society“, due out May 23rd, 2025, via Time To Kill Records!
The track is a satire of the beatdown hardcore scene. Bold and daring, it blends relatively technical death metal riffs with groovy verses and a chorus worthy of the greatest hardcore bands. The bass and drums take center stage, reaching their peak when the guitars drop out for several seconds. The vocalists complement each other, delivering a brutal and diverse range of techniques. With such qualities, this track is set to become a staple in the band’s discography.
Watch the “Beatdown Syndrome” video:
With“Sphinct-Earth Society”, the band pushes the boundaries of the genre they inhabit. In other words, by incorporating numerous new influences, ranging from death metal to modern metal, they redefine what goregrind can be, all while maintaining that groovy signature sound that makes them so instantly recognizable.
For example, while the track “Beatdown Syndrome” integrates hardcore elements, the song “Name Three Songs” instrumentally pushes the limits of technicality. Meanwhile, a track like “Abolish Frontex” draws influences from death metal akin to Daath or Decapitated, and a juggernaut like “Unvaxxed Lives Matter” secures its place as a classic in BRUTAL SPHINCTER’s discography thanks to its unparalleled heaviness and ultra-groovy riffs.
Across the 10 tracks that make up this new opus, BRUTAL SPHINCTER tackles societal issues both dramatic (climate change, immigration, sexism, etc.) and conspiratorial (anti-vaxxers, flat-earthers, etc.). As usual, they use their particularly biting humor and embrace absurdity to approach these sensitive topics.
Moreover, the band’s two frontmen complement each other more than ever, delivering a particularly diverse vocal range. Whether you’re a fan of the pitched vocals typical of goregrind, the slimy inhales of slamming death metal, the caveman shouts of powerviolence, or the more traditional growls foundational to death metal, there’s something to enjoy in these 30 minutes of brutality.
With this new offering, BRUTAL SPHINCTER solidifies its position among the leaders of their genre and sets out to expand its reputation into scenes less niche than grindcore.
Tracklist:
1. The Prolapse Of Society 2. Tony Hawk Pro-Choice 2022 3. Crusta-Colada (Crack’n Kofola) 4. Unvaxxed Lives Matter 5. Beatdown Syndrome 6. Name Three Songs 7. Sphinct-Earth Society 8. The Juice Did It 9. Persona Non-Greta 10. Abolish Frontex
Offending everyone since April 1st, 2013, BRUTAL SPHINCTER have, over the years, established themselves as one of the leading acts in the current goregrind scene.
Bringing political themes into their music, they dub themselves “POOlitical” and, through offbeat and satirical humor, take a stand against all forms of extremism while championing freedom of speech.
Despite their extreme musical style, they are one of those rare acts that can seamlessly fit into any type of event or festival. They have proven this time and again, performing at some of the biggest metal gatherings in Europe, such as Hellfest, Summer Breeze Open Air, Alcatraz, Motocultor, Party San, Metaldays, and more, as well as at the most extreme metal events like Obscene Extreme, DeathFeast Open Air, Meh Suff, Kaltenbach Open Air and Netherlands Deathfest.
BEWARE! Party, dance, groove, and brutality are the elements they always bring with them to every show.

Today Italian atmospheric black metal five-piece SVART VINTER unleash their new single “Torment”.
The song is taken from their sophomore studio album “Isvind” to be released on May 30th, 2025 via Non Serviam Records.
“‘Torment’ delves deep into the dark, wintry depths of the human soul. It tells the story of an individual trapped in the icy grip of their own existence, where light is a distant memory and hope is extinguished by an inescapable darkness. It’s a statement of existence within darkness, a reflection on the annihilation of the self in a world that offers nothing but cold and abandonment. We hope this track can accompany those who, like us, find a certain beauty in the harshness of the void, in the strength of the ice, and in the freedom hidden within despair,” comments the band.
WATCH THE VIDEO HERE:
About the album SVART VINTER state: “It captures the raw forces of winter’s darkness, with themes of isolation, grief, and torment at its core. Each track immerses the listener in a cold, unforgiving landscape where the frost gnaws at your soul and the night stretches on endlessly.
‘Isvind’ offers an experience that is both atmospheric and intense, bringing to life the most sinister aspects of winter’s embrace. The album weaves a tale of death and darkness, and is a relentless exploration of the harshest elements, where the forces of nature are as merciless as they are mesmerizing.”

“Isvind” was mixed and mastered by SVART VINTER’s frontman Andrea Maggioni at Decomposed Design Studio. The album’s artwork is based on an original photo by Autumnal Mood Photography.
Founded in Rome in 2021 by members of the doom/death metal band Veil Of Conspiracy, they draw inspiration from the classic Norwegian black metal scene of the 90’s. The band’s name, meaning “black winter” in Swedish and Norwegian, reflects the bleak and atmospheric qualities of their music.
Though relatively new to the scene, SVART VINTER has quickly established themselves in the underground black metal community. Their debut album, “Mist” (2022), received critical acclaim for its raw intensity and evocative atmosphere. The album captures the essence of traditional Black Metal while adding a fresh, emotional depth.
SVART VINTER’s sound is characterized by haunting melodies, cold, sharp riffs, and a powerful, relentless rhythm section. Their lyrics delve into themes of nature, isolation, and existential struggle, exploring both the beauty and the darkness of the natural world and the human condition. With poetic, introspective lyrics, Svart Vinter creates an immersive experience that resonates deeply with listeners, reflecting on the human spirit’s search for meaning in an indifferent and often hostile universe.
Their music is more than just a reflection of black metal’s harsh sound – it’s a journey through darkness, atmosphere and emotion, a tribute to the genre’s past while looking toward its future.

“Ritual Supremacy” won’t disappoint any fan of the Swabian steel manufacturer. In my humble opinion, this record is even among the best Gerrit, Matze & Co. have ever released!”

“Their most diverse album yet!” 4,7/5 – KNAC.COM (US)
“The Wargods of Metal are back – and they haven’t forgotten anything!” 8,5/10 – POWERMETAL.DE
“Undoubtedly Sacred Steel’s most varied Album!” 9/10 – ROCK HARD (IT)
“‘Ritual Supremacy’ is a great album without weak moments. This is how real heavy metal should sound without compromise!” 8/10 – ROCK TRIBUNE (BE) For more than 25 years, SACRED STEEL have been offering metalheads worldwide a killer, trend-free alternative to bloated trigger drums, cheesy keyboards and boring cliché sounds that are hyped year after year as “the next big thing in metal”. SACRED STEEL have always remained true to themselves, constantly reinventing their traditional style and releasing some highly acclaimed classics, such as their legendary debut “Reborn In Steel” (1997 as the first German band ever signed to Metal Blade Records), the follow-up “Wargods Of Metal”, or their ground-breaking album: “Slaughter Prophecy”.
Today, the iconic heavy metal force is celebrating the release of their brand new, 10th studio album, entitled “Ritual Supremacy”,at a much-awaited live appearance at Keep It True Festival! Aptly in style, a new music video for the heavy-as-hell rager and latest album single, “Leather, Spikes and Chains”, is now premiering HERE
“This is our tribute to songs like “In Union We Stand” (Overkill) or Metal Church ́s s/t anthem from their debut album, with a fast guitar over a stubborn but easy-going beat”, says the band about “Leather, Spikes and Chains“. “The lyrics deal with a metal biker gang in the style of Mad Max (the movie) or Carnivore ́s post-world-war III (and IV) -scenario. If we would not be a metal band but a biker gang, this would be our club hymn. As so often and as usual, some critics have already slapped us in the face because of the song title – “too clichéd, created with the Manowar text generator” and so on. Anyone who has read and understood the lyrics knows that this is nonsense. And anyone who knows us is well aware that we don’t give a shit anyway. We only do this for ourselves and for the people who are into this stuff. And that’s why we’ve packed a lot of fan footage from all over the world into the video. This is basically our photo collage in video format and our thank you to all supporters to celebrate the release of the album. Have fun!“
SACRED STEEL‘s entirely anthemic, new album marks the first to feature new members Toni Ieva (bass) and Jörn Langenfeld (guitar), who joined the band in 2023. “Ritual Supremacy” is out today on ROAR, and available on CD, Vinyl as well as Digital formats athttps://sacredsteel.rpm.link/ritualbumPR

Commanding, fierce, and & triumphing since 1997 – there’s no better way to describe Germany’s premier power metal band, PRIMAL FEAR. The band have just unveiled details about their upcoming album Domination, set to drop on September 5, 2025 via RPM. Pre-orders are now open in a variety of physical formats and digital options here: https://primalfear.rpm.link/dominationPR
To celebrate this announcement, the lead single “Far Away” has officially landed on streaming platforms worldwide. Packed with all the signature elements of a classic PRIMAL FEAR anthem – soaring melodies, thunderous drums and bass, and a blistering twin-guitar solo – the track also carries a powerful sense of yearning, brought to life by Ralf Scheepers’ unmistakable vocals. Filmed at Dennis Ward’s Kangaroo Studios in Karlsdorf-Neuthard, Germany, where the Domination recording sessions took place in late 2024, “Far Away” is also available now as a performance-style music video on YouTube.
Scheepers explains the meaning behind the single: “It’s an expression of faith and trust, no matter where or what. We all know this feeling of missing someone so much, not being able to see or hear him/her every day – especially as musicians whilst touring.”
Going strong for nearly three decades, the band founded and still led by Mat Sinner (bass, vocals) and Ralf Scheepers (vocals) have never let down their global fanbase. Relentless and constantly pushing their limits, PRIMAL FEAR ensure that no two albums ever sound the same. After Code Red [2023] hit some of the highest chart positions of their career, expectations for the next release were higher than ever. Now joined by gifted guitarist Thalìa Bellazecca and former touring drummer André Hilgers, the quintet were more than up for the challenge. And as Domination makes clear, no obstacle is too great for PRIMAL FEAR’s powerhouse songwriting trio – Sinner, Scheepers, and guitarist Magnus Karlsson, who also rejoins the band’s live line-up after several years away.
From the hard-hitting opener “The Hunter” and first single “Far Away,” to the uplifting mid-tempo anthem “Tears Of Fire” and the epic ballad “Eden” – featuring a surprise guest appearance by AD INFINITUM’s Melissa Bonny – Domination delivers on all fronts. Add in neck-breakers like “Scream” and “Crossfire,” and the reflective, string-and-piano-driven closer “A Tune I Won’t Forget,” and it’s clear: PRIMAL FEAR aren’t here to reclaim the crown – they’re here to prove they’ve never left the throne of heavy/power metal royalty.
Watch the video:
Domination was recorded in autumn 2024, produced by Mat Sinner and co-produced by Ralf Scheepers as well as Magnus Karlsson. Rounded off by multiple PRIMAL FEAR mixing/mastering engineer Jacob Hansen at his own studios in Denmark, the album artwork was designed by Death.Milk.Designs.
After turning heads with their crushing rendition of MOTÖRHEAD’s “Iron Fist,” UK thrash legends ONSLAUGHT return with the second single from their upcoming double-album Origins Of Aggression, which is due out on May 23, 2025 via Reigning Phoenix Music.
This time it’s personal. “In Search of Sanity,“ a re-recorded version of the band’s 1989 title track, explodes back to life in 2025 with a vengeance. Packed with towering riffs, mind-blowing solos, and vocal lines sharper than ever, this modern take breathes new fire into a thrash anthem – while keeping its roots raw and intact.
Guitarist and founding member Nige Rockett opens up about the song’s return: “This new recording of the title track from the album of the same name has completely blown me away… It’s like night and day compared to the original version. It’s common knowledge that I’ve never been a huge fan of the album overall. Don’t get me wrong – I love the songs, but at the time it just wasn’t an ONSLAUGHT album in terms of the production, vibe, and everything else that surrounded this particular release. It’s always been my dream to re-record the whole album and to finally make it sound like a real ONSLAUGHT record – the way it should have sounded the first time around. Here it is…! Tons of aggression and anger, a real heavy thrash song with all the necessary components. I hope you dig the new lease of life this track now has, as much as we do!”
Watch the video:
“In Search Of Sanity [2025 Version]”is the second of three singles leading into Origins Of Aggression – a full-throttle retrospective featuring re-recorded classics and influential punk and metal covers, all delivered with a modern-day brutality.
ONSLAUGHT’s contribution to the thrash metal genre cannot be overstated: from their debut album Power From Hell [1985], which is being honoured with their new release, to their celebrated performances across the globe, they remain an untouchable force in the world of heavy metal. With over 40 years of history, the quintet have steadily continued to evolve, delivering relentless riffs and neck-breaking anthems, and cementing their place as pioneers of the British thrash scene.
