Formed in 1982, W.A.S.P. is set to bring this universally acclaimed “classic” album to life. Lead vocalist Blackie Lawless says, “It was an angry record made by an angry band. It was a record that not only reflected the attitude of the band members who made it, but also a record that reflected its time.” This record became a central piece of the 80s metal scene and remains one of the best metal debut albums of all time.

Along with bassist Mike Duda and lead guitarist Doug Blair, whose tenures in the band are 29 and 26 years respectively, W.A.S.P. is joined by long-time drummer extraordinaire Aquiles Priester.

Lawless and company will deliver the ultimate incredible spectacle, bringing W.A.S.P.’s most colorful history to life by performing this revered album in its entirety… ONE more time… ONE last time… Album ONE Alive!

About W.A.S.P.

Few Bands in the history of Rock N’ Roll have ever incited the love, the hate, the raw emotional effect this Band has had on the world. From the very beginning, in the small venues of Los Angeles California, and later to the numerous countries worldwide that banned these Winged Assassins from performing live, the Band’s unique style of Shock and Rock caused Religious organizations, Local City Councils, Parliaments, and the Washington D.C. Senate to hold hearings in an effort to bar this group from selling records and trashing stages everywhere they played.

The band’s founding member, frontman Blackie Lawless, has led the group as its lead vocalist and primary songwriter since its beginning. His unique brand of visual, social and political comment took the group to worldwide heights and sold millions of records alongside a legacy of sold out shows across the globe for 4 decades.

THE RED CHORD Clients Full-Length To See Release On Vinyl

Clients, the now-landmark full-length from THE RED CHORD, will see release on vinyl for the first time ever on October 17th via Metal Blade Records. The release comes in celebration of the record’s 20th anniversary!

THE RED CHORD has been cited as one of the most influential crossover bands of the hardcore, grind, and metal genres. After signing with Metal Blade in 2004, the band unleashed their second full-length, Clients in 2005, to widespread critical acclaim. Standing among one of the most dynamic and poignant albums of that year, Clients landed Decibel’s first-ever perfect score (May 2005, Issue No. 7), the review reading in part, “In this day and age of bands developing instant followings by pandering to the lowest common denominator… THE RED CHORD attained their success by throwing caution to the wind and taking their awesome songs and robust live show anywhere that would host ’em. Truth be told, it’s this quintet’s songs that have made the difference and caused their profile to explode, car bomb-style.” In a 4/5 rating, Alternative Press wrote, “Clients explodes with the chug of hardcore, the velocity of grindcore, the time changes of math-metal, and the guttural vocals and pinched guitar squeals of technical death metal; but ultimately, it’s the band’s finesse at weaving this stuff into a blur that’ll have you scraping your jaw off the floor when the album’s playing.” Pitchfork concurred lauding a, “frenzied blast of uncompromising aggression that fuses the chaos, growling vocals, and lightning-fast beats of death metal and grindcore with the technical prowess of experimental math metal and the occasional driving, mid-tempo hardcore rhythm.” Added Blabbermouth,  “It’s extreme music that you can feel in your bones, that satisfies the primal urges, and that stimulates and/or scars the mind.”

THE RED CHORD’s Clients was recorded at Planet-Z in January 2005, produced by the band and Zeuss, recorded and mixed by Zeuss, with cover art by Paul Romano. The 20th anniversary vinyl edition of Clients was mastered by Zeuss and comes in a gatefold jacket, six-panel tri-fold insert, and DL card, plus  a new vinyl cover, layout, and art elements that are not in the original 2005 CD layout and THE RED CHORD 2025 band portrait by Karen Jerzyk.

Reflects vocalist Guy Kozowyk on the release, “Clients is such an important part of our history. There was a vision for every component. The songwriting, the concepts, the sonic wizardry of Planet Z, and the intense visual arts. There has been a specific artistic concept that [artist] Paul [Romano] and I have discussed for the vinyl layout looming since 2004. After two decades, the stars aligned and the concept of the ‘Clients Family Tree’ was finally realized through the combination of Paul and Mike Wohlberg. Paul’s new illustrations are stunning. We are so excited to present this anniversary reissue with a remaster by the almighty Zeuss. It’s been a slow and methodical process, but we feel the final product is worth the wait. Thank you, Metal Blade for tolerating our fastidious nature and allowing us to be artists first.”

Notes Paul Romano, “Throughout my career, THE RED CHORD’s Clients remains an all-time favorite project for me. I worked very closely with Guy and the band while they were writing the album. From meeting with the actual ‘Clients’ to hanging in the practice space while the album was being written helped me have a deep understanding that makes the artwork feel ingrained with the music. Having this comprehensive understanding lent itself to picking up where we left off 20 years ago with a dream of Clients on vinyl with new artworks that would really bring the idea to the next level. It felt like visiting an old friend and talking as if no time had passed.”

Adds Zeuss, “I dug way deep into the archives from 20 years ago and found the original mixes. Not only are they properly prepared and mastered for vinyl, they sound even better than before!”

KRATORNAS Reveals “God Of The Tribes” Album Artwork And August Release Date + “Ravaged by Hurakaan” Vinyl and Cassette Demo Out May 2025

Following the announcement of the upcoming “Ravaged by Hurakaan” vinyl demo (out May 20th) and remix cassette (out May 30th), extreme metal entity Kratornas has unveiled the official artwork for the highly anticipated full-length album “God of the Tribes” (mastered by Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity)) set for release on August 20th, 2025, through Grathila Records. In a dramatic departure from previous works, “God of the Tribes” represents a significant shift in Kratornas‘ approach. The mastermind behind the project explains:

“This album marks a turning point for KRATORNAS. Not because it tries to be “different” but because it couldn’t have come out any other way. Every part of this release came together naturally. The sound, the pacing, the tension… it wrote itself, shaped by instinct and intention. This album is unlike the usual Kratornas so to anyone expecting it to sound like “early Kratornas” will be disappointed.”

The striking album artwork perfectly complements the thematic elements of the record, which draws heavily from apocalyptic imagery and ritualistic concepts. Along with the artwork reveal, Kratornas has released an album teaser, giving fans their first glimpse into the sonic evolution that defines “God of the Tribes”.

Kratornas, formed in 1995, stands as the pioneering one-man extreme metal act originally from the Philippines and now based in Saskatoon, Canada. With roots tracing back to the underground tape trading scene of the late 1980s, Kratornas has forged its own path through extreme metal, evolving from its early Satanic themes to apocalyptic visions and now to a more nuanced, ritualistic approach with this upcoming release that is recommended for fans of all sorts of black metal.

Canada’s Deadwood Announces USA Tour Dates + New Horrifying Deathcore Video “Heretic”

Returning from their recent Japan tour this past April, Montreal, Canada’s deathcore outfit Deadwood announces their next trek with four USA tour dates this coming July, which includes a performance during this year’s Inkcarceration Festival (dates listed below).

“We’re extremely excited about this opportunity! We are going to do the after-show of one of the biggest festivals in North America, Inkcarceration Fest, and spread the metal to our metalhead family to the south!”

Other Dates:
May 24 – Quebec City, QC – Quartier de Lune w/ Burning The Oppressor, Unpunished
June 14 – St-Calixte, QC – VodFest

USA Tour Dates:
July 16 – Albany, NY – Empire Underground
July 17 – Pittsburgh, PA – The Smiling Moose
July 18 – Mansfield, OH – Inkcarceration Festival (Campground Performance)
July 22 – Hampton Beach, NH – Wally’s

In additional news, Deadwood unveiled their most harrowing work to date with “Heretic”, the lead single from their upcoming EP “Rituals of A Dying Light” slated for release later this year. The accompanying video plunges viewers into a nightmarish realm that perfectly complements the band’s brutal, fast-paced sonic assault. The single’s release coincides with Deadwood‘s upcoming Japan tour (dates listed below) alongside Humanity’s Last Breath and DVRK, further cementing their place in the international extreme metal scene. The comment on the single and what the audience should expect:

“This is the first song we’ve written for the next EP and one of the ones we’re most proud of: it’s fast, heavy, and technical. We are a very intense show with a very percussive and tight guitar sound. We have a lot of samples between the songs to create a horror movie atmosphere. The fans go back home with a slap in the face. Heretic represents our darkest material yet.”

The Montreal-based collective, known for its mission to ‘Make Deathcore Angry Again,’ draws inspiration from centuries-old horror stories and myths. The track delivers the uncompromising heaviness and terrifying atmosphere that have become Deadwood‘s signature since its 2020 formation. The band’s unique blend of death metal and hardcore elements reaches new heights of intensity with this release, promising an unforgettable auditory experience for fans who crave pure brutality. They are recommended for fans of Whitechapel, Despised Icon, and Meshuggah.

ART OF ATTRITION Kick-Off “The Subservient Bloodletting Tour” w/ Beguiler + New Single “Subserviate & Decay”

Red Deer, AB extreme metal outfit Art of Attrition are hitting the road across Canada, east to the west this May for “The Subservient Bloodletting Tour” along with 2024 Wacken Metal Battle Canada Champions, Toronto, ON’s Beguiler (dates listed below – info). This cross-country trek marks a new chapter for both bands as they expand their reach, unleashing their most punishing sets and new songs to unveil. Enter the mosh pit for these two bands’ audio assaults of some good ol’ extreme sonic carnage!

Art of Attrition recently unleashed their latest single, “Subserviate & Decay”. The track showcases the band’s signature blend of relentless brutality and melodic complexity while pushing into bold new territory.

“Subserviate & Decay” delivers the classical Art of Attrition sound that fans have come to expect – a devastating combination of 8-string guitars, gravity blast beats, and guttural vocals – before taking an unexpected turn after the bridge breakdown. The band expands:

“It is modern primitive. It embodies all you love about Art of Attrition and then slaps you in the face with a caveman club. We loved writing this song, recording the parts, and developing its uniqueness in our catalog. It serves as a visceral reminder of the necessity of internal self-love and confidence.”

Since their formation in 2019, Art of Attrition has carved out their niche in the extreme metal landscape; their 2023 debut album “The Void Eternal” and 2024’s “…And It Will All End Forever” established them as a force in the technical deathcore scene. The single represents a conscious step outside the band’s comfort zone, incorporating elements from other genres they love. It is especially recommended for fans of Lorna Shore, Aversions Crown, and Kublai Khan.

Watch CATTLE DECAPITATION “Solastalgia” video HERE:

Though many bands have tried, no one articulates the real apocalypse humanity is facing as vividly and succinctly as CATTLE DECAPITATION. With 2019’s Death Atlas, they reached the apex of this, perhaps leading some to believe they had no place left to go beyond such an achievement, but alas, the band returned with Terrasite, which is as bold a statement as they have ever made. Roaring to life with the savage yet hauntingly melodic “Terrasitic Adaptation” and advancing through the likes of the relentless “We Eat Our Young” and culminating with the ten-plus minutes of “Just Another Body,” Terrasite is an album that constantly shifts dynamics and demands a variety of emotional responses. The record crushed Billboard charts upon its first week of release, earning the #2 position on the Current Hard Music Albums chart, #3 on the Current Independent Albums chart, #4 on the Rock Albums chart and more!

Terrasite features the artwork by longtime collaborator Wes Benscoter (Vader, Kreator, Bloodbath, Hypocrisy), was produced by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Allegaeon) and includes Dis Pater of Midnight Odyssey handling piano and synths.

ALLEGAEON Debuts “The Swarm” Video

“The Swarm” is the latest video/single from technical death metal architects, ALLEGAEON. Now playing at Metal Injection, the track comes off the band’s forthcoming new full-length, The Ossuary Lens, set for release on April 4th via Metal Blade Records.

Notes guitarist Greg Burgess of today’s “The Swarm” single, “This is a piece written by [guitarist] Michael Stancel. The frantic intro riff was actually written on tour in the UK on a boat in Bristol. I remember filming him playing it so we wouldn’t forget how to play it. The show was sold out and ruled, and then all of our gear got rained on because they had us load out so they could have a disco after the show. Shame!”
Remembers Stancel, “If I could have set that venue adrift I would have, at least we got a song out of it.”

RIVERS OF NIHIL Releases “American Death” Video/Single

“American Death” is the latest single from progressive death metal progenitors RIVERS OF NIHIL. The ferocious new track — a true-to-form beater that‘s sure to slay live — comes by way of the band‘s eponymous fifth full-length, set for release on May 30th via Metal Blade Records.

Watch it HERE:

Comments founding guitarist Brody Uttley. “’American Death‘ is a title that we‘ve been throwing around and printing on our T-shirts since 2013. We figured it was finally time to write a song with that title, and given the subject matter of the lyrics, it would only make sense for this song to be a true ass beater. It‘s definitely the most true form ’heavy‘ song of these singles, so we are very much looking forward to playing it live.”

Sixteen years and five albums into the Pennsylvania band‘s career, RIVERS OF NIHIL is upping the ante with Rivers Of Nihil. Traditionally, a self-titled record can signal a return to basics and/or a fresh beginning, and in ten powerful songs, it‘s clear that both those factors are in play. Founding bassist Adam Biggs became the band‘s new lead vocalist/bassist in 2023; the same year marked the appearance of additional guitarist Andy Thomas (ex-Black Crown Initiate), whose vocals also play prominently on Rivers Of Nihil. Producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland at Atrium Audio captured the new dynamics across more than fifty minutes of music.
On June 15th, 2023, the band released the single, “The Sub-Orbital Blues,” the first track with Biggs handling lead vocals following the 2022 departure of singer Jake Dieffenbach. It was also the first track to feature Thomas. A second single, “Hellbirds,” dropped on October 19th of that year. On April 29th, 2024, the band released the cut “Criminals” and an accompanying music video. Both “Criminals” and “The Sub-Orbital Blues” appear on Rivers Of Nihil.

Rivers Of Nihil was created in a very “rock n‘ roll” manner. “On 2021‘s The Work, I wrote a lot of the record on the piano and then the band filled in the gaps,” explains Uttley. “On this new record, I wanted to make sure that this stuff would hit hard live with just the four of us before adding in all of the sparkly auxiliary ’frosting‘ on top.”.

Rivers Of Nihil also showcases additional musicians, including Patrick Corona on alto saxophone, Stephan Lopez on banjo, McFarland on cello, and a slate of other guest vocalists. Despite the fresh approach on Rivers Of Nihil however, the album still fits neatly into the band‘s discography. With Where Owls Know My Name (2018), RIVERS OF NIHIL transcended all labels applied to them, and with its 2021 follow-up, The Work, they forged further into new territory with Metal Injection calling the latter album “the group‘s most cohesive, ambitious, meditative, and varied effort, with greater uses of philosophical significance and transcendental respites.”
Writes Revolver in an early preview of the record, “…their forthcoming self-titled album… specializes in metronome-exploding kick work, riffs brawnier than a full-grown Kodiak, and a vocal tandem of soaring highs (guitarist Andy Thomas) and demonic lows (bassist Adam Biggs).”
