THE DEAD DAISIES Drop “Boom Boom”

The Dead Daisies are turning up the heat with the release of their latest single, “Boom Boom”—a gritty, hard-hitting take on the John Lee Hooker classic. Out today via SPV GmbH Germany, the track is the latest single off the band‘s upcoming blues album Lookin‘ For Trouble, arriving May 30th. Steeped in the raw energy and rebellious spirit that shaped rock ’n‘ roll, the album finds the band reimagining blues standards with the same firepower that has fueled their decade-long run.

“Boom Boom” channels the swagger and soul of Hooker‘s original, inspired by his time at Detroit‘s Apex Bar, where the bartender Willa would famously scold him, “Boom boom, you late again!” The phrase sparked one of his biggest crossover hits, and now The Dead Daisies bring that same playful edge and infectious rhythm to their high-octane version. “He thought it was a great title and wrote the song,” says frontman John Corabi. “He recorded it with the legendary Motown session band The Funk Brothers, and we couldn‘t pass up the opportunity to put our spin on it!!!” The result is a riff-heavy, blues-drenched anthem that pays tribute while making it unmistakably their own.

From the moment they stepped into FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the band—John Corabi, David Lowy, Doug Aldrich, Michael Devin, and Sarah Tomek, — felt the weight of history around them. The iconic space, where legends like Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, and Etta James once recorded, inspired a late-night jam session that quickly became something much bigger. Producer Marti Frederiksen pressed record, and what started as impromptu fun turned into a full-fledged album—one that captures the blues in its purest, most electrifying form.

Across ten powerhouse tracks, Lookin‘ For Trouble breathes new life into legendary songs, with The Dead Daisies putting their own stamp on each one. The band‘s high-voltage take on Robert Johnson‘s “Crossroads”—the song that gave rise to blues mythology—kicked off the album rollout with a scorching tribute to the Delta blues legend.

“’Crossroads‘ by Delta bluesman Robert Johnson has created a myth so large that it‘s been etched into the very foundation of rock ’n‘ roll lore,” says bassist Michael Devin. “Many bands have covered ’Crossroads‘ over the years, now we‘ve covered it in our own way.”

The band‘s rendition has already been met with praise, with Raised by Cassettes calling it “a high-energy, soul-drenched performance that bridges past and present.”  The track is also receiving airplay on radio stations across Germany, the UK, and Australia.

Elsewhere on the album, the band tears through classics like “Going Down” (Freddie King) and “Black Betty” (Lead Belly), putting their own hard-hitting spin on these blues staples. The setlist also includes smoldering renditions of “Born Under A Bad Sign” (Albert King), “Sweet Home Chicago” (Robert Johnson), and “The Thrill Is Gone” (B.B. King), each one injected with The Dead Daisies‘ signature grit and intensity.

At its core, Lookin‘ For Trouble is a testament to the enduring power of the blues. The band approached the album with a deep respect for the genre‘s origins, recording the songs live to capture the spontaneity and emotion that make blues so timeless.

“This album is our love letter to the blues,” says John Corabi. “When I first heard blues, it was through bands like Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones. The deeper I researched my heroes, the deeper I got into the history of this music. The blues is the soul of rock ’n‘ roll—it‘s in everything we do.”

Guitarist Doug Aldrich adds, “We cut these songs live, in the same room where so many legends recorded. It was all about feel—capturing the rawness and authenticity that makes blues so powerful.”

SACRED STEEL – premieres “Leather, Spikes and Chains” music video from brand new studio album “Ritual Supremacy”, out today on ROAR!

“Ritual Supremacy” won’t disappoint any fan of the Swabian steel manufacturer. In my humble opinion, this record is even among the best Gerrit, Matze & Co. have ever released!”

9/10 – ROCK HARD (GER)

“Their most diverse album yet!”
4,7/5 – KNAC.COM (US)

“The Wargods of Metal are back – and they haven’t forgotten anything!”
8,5/10 – POWERMETAL.DE

“Undoubtedly Sacred Steel’s most varied Album!”
9/10 – ROCK HARD (IT)

“‘Ritual Supremacy’ is a great album without weak moments. This is how real heavy metal should sound without compromise!”
8/10 – ROCK TRIBUNE (BE)
For more than 25 years, SACRED STEEL have been offering metalheads worldwide a killer, trend-free alternative to bloated trigger drums, cheesy keyboards and boring cliché sounds that are hyped year after year as “the next big thing in metal”. SACRED STEEL have always remained true to themselves, constantly reinventing their traditional style and releasing some highly acclaimed classics, such as their legendary debut “Reborn In Steel” (1997 as the first German band ever signed to Metal Blade Records), the follow-up “Wargods Of Metal”, or their ground-breaking album: “Slaughter Prophecy”.

Today, the iconic heavy metal force is celebrating the release of their brand new, 10th studio album, entitled “Ritual Supremacy”, at a much-awaited live appearance at Keep It True Festival! Get ready for a new chapter of SACRED STEEL, who are a trademark in our scene: All METAL with attitude, never everybody’s darling – and damn proud of it!

Aptly in style, a new music video for the heavy-as-hell rager and latest album single, “Leather, Spikes and Chains”, is now premiering HERE

“This is our tribute to songs like “In Union We Stand” (Overkill) or Metal Church ́s s/t anthem from their debut album, with a fast guitar over a stubborn but easy-going beat”, says the band about “Leather, Spikes and Chains“. “The lyrics deal with a metal biker gang in the style of Mad Max (the movie) or Carnivore ́s post-world-war III (and IV) -scenario. If we would not be a metal band but a biker gang, this would be our club hymn. As so often and as usual, some critics have already slapped us in the face because of the song title – “too clichéd, created with the Manowar text generator” and so on. Anyone who has read and understood the lyrics knows that this is nonsense. And anyone who knows us is well aware that we don’t give a shit anyway. We only do this for ourselves and for the people who are into this stuff. And that’s why we’ve packed a lot of fan footage from all over the world into the video. This is basically our photo collage in video format and our thank you to all supporters to celebrate the release of the album. Have fun!“

SACRED STEEL‘s entirely anthemic, new album marks the first to feature new members Toni Ieva (bass) and Jörn Langenfeld (guitar), who joined the band in 2023. “Ritual Supremacy” is out today on ROAR, and available on CD, Vinyl as well as Digital formats at https://sacredsteel.rpm.link/ritualbumPR

Modern Metal Supergroup CYHRA Release New Song “Mark Of My Sins”

Swedish melodic metal supergroup CYHRA (Featuring AMARANTHE Co-Founder Jake E. and current THE HALO EFFECT, KAMELOT, THE CROWN, and SUBURBAN TRIBE members) are continuing to take the metal world by storm with the release of their new digital single “Mark of My Sins”. While the group is composed of legendary musicians, “Mark of My Sins” proves that Cyhra is no mere supergroup, but instead a band that produces music on par with anything they have previously released. A high bar, but one that they consistently meet. This is the sound of a band leveling up: Massive riffs, stadium-sized hooks, and a chorus that refuses to leave your head. Heavy, melodic, and packed with raw intensity, this song is built to be played loud.

Frontman Jake E comments, ” ‘Mark of My Sins’ is one of the most powerful songs we’ve ever written. It’s raw, intense, and full of emotion—everything we love about CYHRA. This track dives deep into the struggles we carry and the strength it takes to rise above them. We couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out, and we can’t wait for you all to hear it.”

The song is accompanied by a powerful video directed by Patric Ullaeus who has produced videos for ARCH ENEMY, IN FLAMES and won a Norwegian Grammy (Spellemannprisen) for directing “The Serpentine Offering” by DIMMU BORGIR. A cinematic music video featuring the band navigating a tense, war-like conflict in an urban setting, where vocalist Jake E takes the lead in a quiet, determined struggle for control.

Watch HERE:

As they approach their 10th anniversary next year, CYHRA have carved out a notable place in the metal scene since their founding in 2016 by Jake E (AMARANTHE Co-Founder) and Jesper Strömblad (THE HALO EFFECT, formerly IN FLAMES). They were soon joined by drummer Alex Landenburg (KAMELOT, Luca Turilli’s RHAPSODY), guitarist Euge Valovirta (SUBURBAN TRIBE), and bassist Peter Iwers (THE HALO EFFECT, formerly IN FLAMES). Their debut album Letters To Myself” was released in 2017 to glowing reviews, catapulting the group to global stages, crowned with a massive North American tour supporting SABATON and KREATOR.

Following Iwers’ departure, Valovirta also took over bass duties, and the band released their second album No Halos In Hell in 2019, which blended groovy metal with a poppy flair and featured the hit single “Out Of My Life,” amassing about 11 million streams on Spotify. Their success continued with a European tour with BATTLE BEAST, UK dates alongside DELAIN, headline shows in select countries including Finland and Japan, and performances at major festivals like Masters of Rock, Bloodstock Open Air, Sabaton Open Air, and 70,000 Tons of Metal.

In 2020, guitarist Marcus Sunesson (RONNIE ATKINS, THE CROWN) joined, expanding the line-up. The pandemic pause allowed the band to craft their third album The Vertigo Trigger, released in 2023. The album’s tour brought them back to Finland to open for SMASH INTO PIECES and to headline shows in early 2024. Quietly beginning their fourth album, CYHRA ended the cycle with a Scandinavian tour with EVERGREY, leading into 2025 with two new singles “Superman.” and “Skin From Bones”.

PRIMAL FEAR Present “Far Away” Single & Music Video From New Album ‘Domination’

Commanding, fierce, and & triumphing since 1997 – there’s no better way to describe Germany’s premier power metal band, PRIMAL FEAR. The band have just unveiled details about their upcoming album Domination, set to drop on September 5, 2025 via RPM. Pre-orders are now open in a variety of physical formats and digital options here: https://primalfear.rpm.link/dominationPR

To celebrate this announcement, the lead single “Far Away” has officially landed on streaming platforms worldwide. Packed with all the signature elements of a classic PRIMAL FEAR anthem – soaring melodies, thunderous drums and bass, and a blistering twin-guitar solo – the track also carries a powerful sense of yearning, brought to life by Ralf Scheepers’ unmistakable vocals. Filmed at Dennis Ward’s Kangaroo Studios in Karlsdorf-Neuthard, Germany, where the Domination recording sessions took place in late 2024, “Far Away” is also available now as a performance-style music video on YouTube.

Scheepers explains the meaning behind the single: “It’s an expression of faith and trust, no matter where or what. We all know this feeling of missing someone so much, not being able to see or hear him/her every day – especially as musicians whilst touring.”

Going strong for nearly three decades, the band founded and still led by Mat Sinner (bass, vocals) and Ralf Scheepers (vocals) have never let down their global fanbase. Relentless and constantly pushing their limits, PRIMAL FEAR ensure that no two albums ever sound the same. After Code Red [2023] hit some of the highest chart positions of their career, expectations for the next release were higher than ever. Now joined by gifted guitarist Thalìa Bellazecca and former touring drummer André Hilgers, the quintet were more than up for the challenge. And as Domination makes clear, no obstacle is too great for PRIMAL FEAR’s powerhouse songwriting trio – Sinner, Scheepers, and guitarist Magnus Karlsson, who also rejoins the band’s live line-up after several years away.

From the hard-hitting opener “The Hunter” and first single “Far Away,” to the uplifting mid-tempo anthem “Tears Of Fire” and the epic ballad “Eden” – featuring a surprise guest appearance by AD INFINITUM’s Melissa Bonny – Domination delivers on all fronts. Add in neck-breakers like “Scream” and “Crossfire,” and the reflective, string-and-piano-driven closer “A Tune I Won’t Forget,” and it’s clear: PRIMAL FEAR aren’t here to reclaim the crown – they’re here to prove they’ve never left the throne of heavy/power metal royalty.

Watch the video:

Domination was recorded in autumn 2024, produced by Mat Sinner and co-produced by Ralf Scheepers as well as Magnus Karlsson. Rounded off by multiple PRIMAL FEAR mixing/mastering engineer Jacob Hansen at his own studios in Denmark, the album artwork was designed by Death.Milk.Designs.

ONSLAUGHT Drop Ferocious New Version Of 1989’s “In Search Of Sanity”

After turning heads with their crushing rendition of MOTÖRHEAD’s “Iron Fist,” UK thrash legends ONSLAUGHT return with the second single from their upcoming double-album Origins Of Aggression, which is due out on May 23, 2025 via Reigning Phoenix Music.

This time it’s personal. “In Search of Sanity, a re-recorded version of the band’s 1989 title track, explodes back to life in 2025 with a vengeance. Packed with towering riffs, mind-blowing solos, and vocal lines sharper than ever, this modern take breathes new fire into a thrash anthem – while keeping its roots raw and intact.

Guitarist and founding member Nige Rockett opens up about the song’s return: “This new recording of the title track from the album of the same name has completely blown me away… It’s like night and day compared to the original version. It’s common knowledge that I’ve never been a huge fan of the album overall. Don’t get me wrong – I love the songs, but at the time it just wasn’t an ONSLAUGHT album in terms of the production, vibe, and everything else that surrounded this particular release. It’s always been my dream to re-record the whole album and to finally make it sound like a real ONSLAUGHT record – the way it should have sounded the first time around. Here it is…! Tons of aggression and anger, a real heavy thrash song with all the necessary components. I hope you dig the new lease of life this track now has, as much as we do!”

Watch the video:

“In Search Of Sanity [2025 Version]”is the second of three singles leading into Origins Of Aggression – a full-throttle retrospective featuring re-recorded classics and influential punk and metal covers, all delivered with a modern-day brutality.

ONSLAUGHT’s contribution to the thrash metal genre cannot be overstated: from their debut album Power From Hell [1985], which is being honoured with their new release, to their celebrated performances across the globe, they remain an untouchable force in the world of heavy metal. With over 40 years of history, the quintet have steadily continued to evolve, delivering relentless riffs and neck-breaking anthems, and cementing their place as pioneers of the British thrash scene.

Warlord release video for “Stygian Passage”!New album “The Lost Archangel”out June 27th 2025 via High Roller Records

When William J. Tsamis, founder of legendary epic metal masters Warlord, sadly passed away on the 13th of May 2021 at the age of only 60, it looked as if the premature death of one of the most creative forces in American metal had come. However, Warlord bounced back in 2024, with a new line-up and a brand new highly acclaimed studio album entitled “Free Spirit Soar” (on High Roller Records). This was quickly followed by “From The Ashes To The Archives – The Hot Pursuit Continues”, a limited edition release to mark the occasion of the band’s festival appearances in 2024 with returning Warlord vocalist Giles Lavery. (who also sings for Jack Starr and Alcatrazz).

Watch the video “Stygian Passage”

With a new studio album in the bag, it was time for the “reborn” Warlord to hit the road. In the summer of 2024, they appeared at Trveheim (Germany), Golden R Festival (Greece), Pyrenean Warriors (France) and Metalitalia (Italy).

It was the band’s idea to give their loyal following a something extra in return for their loyalty, as Giles Lavery explains: “We wanted to do something special and also something I don’t think anyone else has ever done before – release and “give away” an exclusive ‘free download’ song to mark each festival stop on the tour … four of them in one month. The reactions at these shows was again something that exceeded our expectations, people singing every word with us, the energy and response from the festival crowds was amazing.”

The songs we are talking about are “Golgotha (Place Of The Skull)”, “The Rainbow”, “Lost Archangel” and “Stygian Passage”.

All four can be found now in physical form on Warlord’s new release “The Lost Archangel”. The singer goes into more detail: “They are brand new recordings: but ‘The Rainbow’ is an old Warlord demo from the very early 80s, which was recorded back then, so we re-recorded it in 2024. The other three songs were compositions Bill released on his Lordian Guard albums in the 90s, that we ‘Warlordized’ also in 2024… These were the last three Lordian Guard songs that we felt we could bring over to Warlord, so we thought why not release them this way as “free downloads”
Almost directly after we released them free we were asked if we were going to issue these in physical format.

Apart from these four new songs, “The Lost Archangel” also features a wealth of older and more recent live recordings as well several studio re-workings of historic Warlord material.

WEDNESDAY 13 Teams Up With Faster Pussycat’s Taime Downe for Hard Rocker “No Apologies”

Slaying audiences across North America on his “There’s No Such Thing As Monsters” tour celebrating 20 years of Transylvania 90210WEDNESDAY 13 has just unleashed the biggest surprise in his bag of tricks – brand-new single “No Apologies” featuring Faster Pussycat’s Taime Downe! The track appears on the band’s upcoming full-length album, Mid Death Crisis, out this Friday, April 25 via Napalm Records.

“No Apologies” wastes no time ripping into a heavy rock rager, laced with fiery guitar leads and even more searing lyrics. The fast-romping anthem is an unapologetic exorcism of toxic demons and even more toxic people, and arrives alongside a new music video, also featuring Taime Downe.

WEDNESDAY 13 comments about “No Apologies”:
“This is the most rock n’ roll song I’ve written in years. I wanted to go back to my roots, and my roots are 80s glam. The name at the top of that list was Faster Pussycat, so it made total sense to have Taime Downe guest on this track. Having one of my rock n’ roll idols alongside me in the studio was an honor. We whipped up a nasty little middle finger salute to ourselves on this one, and the result is ‘No Apologies’.”
Watch the “No Apologies” Music Video HERE:

After returning in 2022 with his widely-acclaimed full-length album Horrifier (#8 US Top New Artist Albums), as well as several major tours supporting his solo work and celebrated Murderdolls reunion shows, the Duke of Spook is back with Mid Death CrisisWEDNESDAY 13 dubs the album as a fun, campy, “leave-your-brain-at-the-door” ragerand a true return to his hard-rocking roots! Produced by guitarist Alex Kane (Life, Sex & Death, Enuff Z’Nuff, Antiproduct) and mixed by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Prong, DevilDriver) the album oozes infectious 80s sleaze metal energy.

Eerie introductory track “There’s No Such Thing As Monsters” vibrates with electricity before industrial-tinged “Decease and Desist” kicks in full blast. WEDNESDAY 13’s trademark crooning wastes no time entering the fold as he careens through the high-octane horror anthem. First single “When the Devil Commands” instantly proves itself as a stunner with an unforgettable hook, charging arena rock-laden drum production and chugging guitars, before tracks like “Rotting Away” and “Blood Storm” ensnare with metallic goth-punk energy that will have crowds moving wall to wall. Featuring Faster Pussycat’s Taime Downe on guest vocals, standout heavy rocker “No Apologies” is a fast-romping exorcism of toxic demons, while the triumphant mini-murder ballad “Decapitation” riles up listeners with a catchy lead riff before making a hard left into a theatrical bridge straight out of a sinister 60s sock hop! Ragers like “In Misery”“Xanaxtasy” and “Sick and Violent” explore various genres of metal, injecting the album with elements of gripping heaviness for any listener, while downtempo stunners “I Hurt You” and “My Funeral” approach a more pensive territory.

Although its title, Mid Death Crisis, may suggest otherwise, WEDNESDAY 13 shows zero signs of stopping on this refreshingly powerful and multi-faceted entry into the band’s hall of horrific history!

Brutal Death OPHIOLATRY Release Harrowing Video Clip For New Single “Death Tour” Off New Album “Serpent’s Verdict” Out June 2025 (WormHoleDeath Records)

Brazilian extreme metal outfit Ophiolatry has released a new music video, “Death Tour”, the first single from their upcoming album “Serpent’s Verdict”, due June 6, 2025, via Wormholedeath Records. This latest visual offering is inspired by Greek mythology, depicting the journey of a fallen warrior’s soul through the realm of death. As the spirit is carried across the River Styx, it approaches the gates of Hades, where the warrior’s tribe awaits his arrival, welcoming him into the afterlife. They comment further on the single and the video:

“The warrior perished, part of his body bathed in the blood of the unworthy. He doesn’t beg. He doesn’t hesitate. The ancestors whisper his name as his spirit ascends, enveloped in the smoke of rituals. The witches dance around the burning fire, invoking Charon’s presence. The coins reflect in his lifeless eyes, an offering to the boatman. From the depths of Lake Styx. The serpent rises, its coils moving like time itself. As he breathes, the warrior’s confusion dissolves into clarity. He steps onto the distant shore, where his tribe awaits him in reverent silence. There are no words; They are not necessary. They were already waiting to cross the gates of Hades together; The end is just
the beginning.”

“Death Tour” represents a sonic evolution for Ophiolatry, balancing their technical prowess with a more atmospheric, tribally influenced approach to extreme metal. The video clip amplifies these themes through striking imagery that merges Greek Mythology with the brutality of modern death metal aesthetics.

Each track on “Serpent’s Verdict” functions as part of an immersive narrative experience. It is an invocation of the past and a battle cry for the future. With the release of “Death Tour,” Ophiolatry continues to build anticipation for the full album, which promises to be one of the most devastating extreme metal releases of 2025. It is recommended for fans of Cryptopsy, Suffocation, and Death.

JAWFANE Announces Debut EP “Me And All My Demons” With Lead Single “Cataclysm (Nightmare)”

USA’s post-hardcore outfit Jawfane is proud to announce their debut EP “Me and All My Demons” set for release on June 26th through Exitus Stratagem Records. Alongside this announcement, the band has released their first single, “Cataclysm (Nightmare),” which is the first look at the aggressive, emotional, and immersive music Jawfane prides themselves on. Cory comments on the single:

“I am of the 00’ hardcore scene with a deep love for Norma Jean, the opening riff is an call back to that era, Chase did a great job writing us out of it into a more modern metal riff that’s the hard part of those moments, coming out of the familiar into something not so normal for me at least. We tried to be as aggressive as we could with the breakdown and chorus, but still keep it a song with a structure, which is not the instinct when playing giant breakdowns. I never want those parts to end.”

Born from a desire to create without judgment or barriers, Jawfane has spent the last four years building their sound from the ground up. What began as a group of friends secretly writing together has evolved into an immersive musical force that defies easy categorization. Though rooted in metal-core and hardcore sensibilities, the band refuses to be pigeonhole into a single genre.

“Me and All My Demons” represents a collection of real-life experiences transformed into raw, cathartic expressions. All Jawfane songs are based in reality for at least one of the members, someone they know personally, or something they needed to say that they couldn’t say any other way”. This authenticity runs through lead single “Cataclysm (Nightmare),” which showcases the band’s ability to channel personal struggles into powerful sonic landscapes.

The EP was initially self-produced before catching the attention of Exitus Stratagem Records, who worked with the band to rework and re-record the entire collection. Jawfane will be supporting the release with shows throughout the summer. They are recommended for fans of Misery Signals, Cane Hill, and King 810.
