Thrash Metal Legends DESTRUCTION Unleash Third Single “Scumbag Human Race” + Official Music Video Out Now

While fans eagerly await the release of DESTRUCTION’s 16th studio album, Birth Of Malice, out March 7, 2025 via Napalm Records, the German thrash metal icons have released their third single, “Scumbag Human Race”. On this track, Schmier rages against the corruption and deceit of humanity, with the unforgettable chorus acting as a call for reckoning as the band spits fury at those who exploit and manipulate. A blistering thrash anthem, this track will resonate with anyone fed up with the state of the world.

DESTRUCTION on “Scumbag Human Race”:
“Single number three, ‘Scumbag Human Race’, is a mercyless steamhammer of a track! Its relentless groove and energy are pushing you straight forward into the moshpit! This will be an intense live track and that riff can melt faces!
The lyrics are metaphorically speaking: how would this planet call us if it could talk?  And what would it tell us?  Right …wake the fuck up … SCUMBAG HUMAN RACE!!!!“

Fans all over the world worship DESTRUCTION as one of the biggest names in thrash metal with a 40+ year career! As part of the legendary Teutonic 4 alongside German thrash icons Sodom, Tankard and Kreator, DESTRUCTION have forged a legacy that has been captured by German film makers Denise Dörne and Ilija Jelusic, who have created an exciting documentary about DESTRUCTION’s eager plans to reunite the Teutonic 4 for a world tour. But in the pursuit of this dream, however, fate strikes. The film follows Schmier and his band up close as the pandemic hits, and after a fateful turn of events, everything is at stake. The movie was shot over the course of five years, resulting in exclusive material that sets it apart from traditional interview-heavy documentaries. The viewer experiences the protagonists in behind-the-scenes like atmospheres, immersing them in the world of DESTRUCTION. The film uncompromisingly shows what it means to be a heavy metal musician – amidst small, sweaty clubs and huge open air stages – enabling an authentic view into the core of one of the most undisputedly important, influential and genre-defying bands in thrash metal.

The movie will premiere in Berlin on March 6, 2025, with the band and filmmakers also in attendance. Make sure to get your tickets HERE!

Denise Dörner about the movie:
“This documentary is not a cheerful music clip, but a very serious story about passion and life. I could never have imagined in my wildest dreams that our idea could be realized so well, even if everything was completely thrown into disarray by the circumstances. I was allowed to look behind the scenes, travel with DESTRUCTION and empathize with them. I met my idols and many interesting people and also felt the full range of emotions. I’m very excited to see what people will think and feel about this journey.”

Ilija Jelusic adds:
“As a film team, we had a really good connection with Schmier and DESTRUCTION, who had a lot of trust in us. The film was made without a commission and without film funding. That means we had to finance everything ourselves, which also contained a big risk.
During the pandemic, none of us knew what would happen next and where the story of the film would go. Of course, it was a very moving time for us filmmakers as well. And then one adventure followed the next and suddenly we were off to Mexico. I am deeply grateful for the experiences we were able to gain through DESTRUCTION!”
Watch the Trailer for The Art of Destruction HERE:

On Birth Of Malice, scene-legend and original member Schmier once again combines his dual vocal/bass attack with crashing riffs from battle axe masters Martin Furia and Damir Eskić, while Randy Black blasts pummeling drums to new heights. As witnessed on their previous thrash-fest Diabolical (2022), DESTRUCTION return with their uniquely raw and brutal sound, delivering merciless songs with a touch more variety and groove this time. All twelve songs from the butchers hit with a direct, clean sound – resulting in addictive metal anthems for a new generation of thrashers!

The album is opened by the brutal “Destruction”, with a luring intro transforming into a true thrashing hymn with razor sharp guitars honoring the band’s 40+ year legacy, where mastermind Schmier reflects on the old days. Like the title Birth Of Malice suggests, lyrically, Schmier delves deep in human errors – like selfish behavior on “Greed” and “Evil Never Sleeps”. A clear statement is made with carnage on “Scumbag Human Race”, exploring the mistakes mankind makes and pushing authorities in its memorable chorus “I will count your days!”. The same rebellious attitude can be witnessed on the banging “No Kings – No Masters”DESTRUCTION also shifts to futuristic topics on the album, like the unconscious influence of technology and new forms of war on “Cyber Warfare”. To close this brutal tour de force on a positive note, the thrashing legends celebrate their strong allyship with metal colleagues Accept by presenting their own version of classic neck breaker “Fast As A Shark”.

All of these heavy topics are combined in the brutal cover artwork, designed by talented Hungarian artist Gyula Havancsák, known for his works for bands like AcceptKreator and Blind GuardianBirth Of Malice was recorded at Switzerland’s Little Creek Studio by V.O.Pulver, and guitarist Martin Furia mixed and mastered the masterpiece at The Black Mancave in Hannover, Germany. DESTRUCTION mark themselves once again as a tight metal-machine, switching between ruthless thrash and pounding melodic moments, proving they are more than ready to slaughter again on this new album, and at their upcoming shows all over the world!

CRADLE OF FILTH Unleashes Satanic New Music Video for Latest Single “To Live Deliciously”

GRAMMY Award-nominated extreme metal institution CRADLE OF FILTH recently announced their upcoming 14th studio album, The Screaming Of The Valkyries, out March 21, 2025 via Napalm Records. The band reigns supreme as one of the most revered, formative and notorious names in music – from the depths of the extreme metal underground to the peaks of mainstream pop culture itself, and are responsible for breaking ground for many of today’s top metal artists with their trademark mixture of blackened heaviness, macabre theatricality and scintillating gothic style.

Today, following the release of their acclaimed new single “To Live Deliciously”, the track’s music video has been released in all of its gory glory. Experience the ride of your life (or death, rather) and watch the video now!CRADLE OF FILTH master of ceremonies Dani Filthsays about the new video:
“An observation on religious restraint as well as being a window to tout a bit of blasphemous filth, the video for ‘To Live Deliciously’ (our second from the new album) is a pleasant social engagement betwixt a pious young nun and her mentor priest.

Just with a smattering of demonic possession and sexual misconduct added for good stock.”
Watch the Music Video for “To Live Deliciously” HERE:

Following the release of 2021’s Existence Is Futile (#20 Billboard 200 with Hard Rock Genre), CRADLE OF FILTH emerge again with a legacy-cementing opus. On The Screaming Of The Valkyries, Dani Filth’s recognizable scream and equally identifiable growl stand mightily alongside twin guitar attacks, symphonic flourishes and explosive rhythm section, implemented by drummer Martin “Marthus” Skaroupka, bassist Daniel Firth, guitarists Marek “Ashok” Smerda and Donny Burbage, and keyboardist/vocalist Zoe Federoff.

After album opener “To Live Deliciously” hits immediately, second track “Demagoguery” blends dark beauty, blast beats and slaytanic groove as only Cradle can combine. Across the album’s blunt and unforgiving yet inviting expanse, Cradle summons the succulent flavors of classic albums like Dusk And Her Embrace and Cruelty And The Beast with the galloping (but no less fierce) thunder of recent entries Hammer Of The Witches and Existence Is Futile. Flashes of early metal influences coalesce with carnivorous glee into unapologetic death ‘n’ roll. “White Hellebore” is CRADLE OF FILTH at its most devilishly straightforward, juxtaposing traditional heavy metal with blasts of thrashing fury, spinning back to operatic goth without sounding disjointed. Anchored by arguably the most mournful melody in their catalog, “Non Omnis Moriar” (“I shall not wholly die”) could be a cousin to Paradise Lost or Anathema, inverted through Cradle’s thorny prism. “You Are My Nautilus” is the darkest song Iron Maiden never wrote, spinning an epic tale with dueling guitars, while “Ex Sanguine Draculae” conjures Dusk-era atmosphere with imaginative new colors.

Produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Scott Atkins at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk, England, The Screaming of the Valkyries beckons the brave into a new era of CRADLE OF FILTH misadventure, celebrating massive melancholic melody, blackened thrash, and apocalyptic existential dread with a grinning smattering of unbridled revelry. The Screaming of the Valkyries is a bloody dark love letter to the longtime legion of CRADLE OF FILTH faithful and a stunning entryway for fresh lambs to the sonic slaughter.

MARROWOMB is a blackened death metal project formed from the ashes of former Chicago-based bands Polyptych and Endmember in 2020. Spearheaded by mastermind Frank Lato, the artistry of MARROWOMB knows no bounds and takes an uncompromising approach to songwriting. The project takes its influences from various sources; however, the prominent focus is centered on internal conflict and struggle.

The Metal Asylum Talks To Vittorio Sabelli (Notturno)

– Can you tell us about the origin of the band name, a history of the band and a little bit about the various members?

Notturno was born with the idea of creating music that breathes the darkness and intimacy of the night. Atmospheres and melodies are created in harmony with the most intimate part of ourselves.

– Are you all from the same area? How did you get together as a band?

Notturno is a project composed by me and Kjiel with the addition of the drummer Sven in the first album, while from the second album ‘Inside’ there is the drummer Diego ‘Aeternus’ Tasciotti. Kjiel and I live close by even if we see each other very little. I chose Kjiel because in the extreme music scene she is the only one who manages to have dynamics that go from almost imperceptible whispers to a devastating scream with a unique musical expressiveness. Above all, she is a person with whom I can find an excellent balance inside the project.

– Who are your favourite artists/bands and how have they influenced your own sound?

The first album ‘Obsessions’ is certainly influenced by some bands I was listening to at that time (Coldworld, Nocturnal Depression) but from the second ‘Inside’, Notturno begins to have its own unique characteristics within the Black Metal panorama. The distinctive features are certainly the use of clarinets and piano, in addition to Kjiel’s voice, which makes the project recognizable at first glance.

– Did you always have the ambition to be a musician and in a band or did you originally have other plans?

Being able to do what you love for a living, which is playing music, is already an excellent goal in itself. I honestly never thought I could do better since I was a teenager.

– What songs or albums are on your current playlist?

I still think in the old way, so no playlists but only vinyl and CDs. Lately my listening are focused on the discography of Lifelover and The Cure.

– Do you sing in the shower?

Absolutely not, I’m also a terrible singer, I admit it!

– Do you have any plans for the band for this year and into next year?

The third album ‘Our’ has just been released, again for the label Hypnotic Dirge Records. The second album of the A.M.E.N. project will be released next January for the label My Kingdom Music, together with Erba del Diavolo, the singer of the mighty Ponte del Diavolo. The album will be dedicated to the King of horror: Dario Argento.

– Do you currently have any new songs/albums ready to be released?

In addition to Notturno and A.M.E.N. I’m working on the second INCANTVM album titled “Maleficia”.

– If you could play at any venue in the world where would you choose?

Notturno inside Pere Lachaise in Paris.

– Do you have a favourite album? If so, what is it?

I have more than one but there are at least four that have changed my life, and they are: Miles Davis ‘Kinf of Blue’, Led Zeppelin II, Black Sabbath ‘The Headless Cross’ and ‘Nemesis Divina’ by Satyricon.

– Do you have any guilty pleasure songs/albums?

Absolutely not. I try to listen to what is in tune with my mood every day and still enjoy the pleasure of emotions that only music can give.

– If you were putting together the greatest show on earth, who would be playing?

Very difficult, but I would say Led Zeppelin with Miles Davis and Dimebag Darrell.

– Can you remember the first album you bought with your own money? What was it and do you still have it?

I still have every vinyl, CD or MC from when I was 14th years old. The first MC was Black Sabbath’s The Headless Cross and the first Iron Maiden, also on MC.

– As your fans will be reading this, is there any message you would like to send out to them?

Always to support Underground music, still among the few in which you can find sincerity from those who create it. Of course all the projects can be listened to and possibly purchased on our Bandcamp page: https://dawnofadarkage.bandcamp.com/

– Finally, let us know all your social media sites so your fans, old and new, can find and follow/like you!

On Instagram page, in addition to Bandcamp:

https://www.instagram.com/notturno_black_metal

– We, at The Metal Asylum, would like to thank you for your time. Is there is anything further that you would like to add?

I think we’ve said enough things. I thank you on behalf of Notturno for your interest and we hope to hear from you again in the future.

German Dark Metal Pioneers NACHTBLUT Release New Single “Das Leben der Anderen” + Official Music Video

Today, German dark metal masters NACHTBLUT have released their gloomy third single “Das Leben der Anderen” [Eng: The Lives of Others], cut from their upcoming seventh studio album Todschick [Eng: Dead chic], out this Friday via Napalm Records.

In the age of social media, this sentiment is more relevant than ever. The melancholic track “Das Leben der Anderen” captures a deep sense of loneliness and isolation, reflecting the all-too-common feeling of being left behind while everyone else seems to be thriving. Underlined by Askeroth’s guttural screams and explosive synths, this offering elevates their sound to new heights as the band prepares to showcase this and more Todschick tracks on tour, starting this Friday!

NACHTBLUT on their new single “Das Leben der Anderen”:
“When was the last time you scrolled through social networks for hours? From one perfectly staged vacation photo to the next, from faces distorted by filters that warp our beauty standards. And have you ever asked yourself: Why is everyone so flawless and seemingly living an exciting life – except for me? If so, this song is for you.”

“A great album that captures the feeling of early 80s goth rock, romance and EBM in a new way.” – Sweden Rock (SE)

Check out the official music video for “Das Leben der Anderen”

Following their successful album Vanitas (2020), which reached number 19 in the official German album charts, the quartet is expanding its sound with a multi-faceted mix of stylistic elements and synthesizer sounds that pay homage to the 80s, among other influences. Produced by Chris Harms (Lord of the Lost), the album will also be released in an exclusive wooden box set with a bonus CD containing seven additional tracks and exciting collaborations with scene greats.

Meanwhile, the dark, new-wave-synth track “Manchmal kommen sie wieder” explores the eternal cycles of creation, destruction and war. Tracks like “Kinder des Zorns” invite headbanging with especially hard riffs and tempo. With “Schneller als der Tod,” the band ventures into entirely new musical territory, seamlessly merging epic wild west elements with the powerful sounds of dark metal. Energetic melodies blend perfectly with Askeroth’s characteristic vocals, creating a unique atmosphere that brings the album to a striking conclusion, offering an unexpected musical twist.

With TodschickNACHTBLUT not only masterfully enriches dark metal with captivating, genre-spanning sounds that set new accents, but also addresses contemporary societal issues, striking a chord with the times. This new masterpiece is an invitation to view the dark beauty of life and its challenges in a new light, and to join the band on their 2025 headline tour to experience it live!

WEDNESDAY 13 Announces 10th Studio Album “Mid Death Crisis” + Drops Scandalous New Music Video

Watch the Scandalous Music Video for New Single “When The Devil Commands”

After returning in 2022 with his widely-acclaimed full-length album Horrifier (#8 US Top New Artist Albums), as well as several major tours supporting his solo work and celebrated Murderdolls reunion shows, world-renowned fearsome frontman WEDNESDAY 13 is back with another slew of harbingers of horror to slay the masses. His new full-length album, Mid Death Crisis, is set to drop on April 25, 2025 via Napalm Records.

The Duke of Spook himself dubs the album as a fun, campy, “leave-your-brain-at-the-door” ragerand a true return to his hard-rocking roots! Produced by guitarist Alex Kane (Life, Sex & Death, Enuff Z’Nuff, Antiproduct) and mixed by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Prong, DevilDriver) the album oozes infectious 80s sleaze metal energy, further accented by a blitzing guest vocal from Faster Pussycat’s Taime Downe.

WEDNESDAY 13 has unveiled the album’s first single, the ultra-catchy “When The Devil Commands”, and its equally raucous, blasphemous new music video. The track stuns with an unforgettable hook, charging arena rock-laden drum production and chugging guitars.

WEDNESDAY 13 comments:
“Growing up in the 80s, I remember the satanic panic of heavy metal music and parents’ concern over what their kids were listening to. My mother was constantly checking my cassettes and making sure I wasn’t possessed by the devil. Most of the music that I listened to never had any of those themes, but they were just accused of it. So when writing the lyrics to this song, I wrote what I thought would terrify my mother if she had stumbled upon this music. I wanted the lyrics to be upfront and leave no question as to what they were about… the Devil. This song is done in a fun spirit, and we don’t plan on burning any churches in the future.”

Eerie introductory track “There’s No Such Thing As Monsters” vibrates with electricity before industrial-tinged “Decease and Desist” kicks in full blast. WEDNESDAY 13’s trademark crooning wastes no time entering the fold as he careens through the high-octane horror anthem, before tracks like “Rotting Away” and “Blood Storm” ensnare with metallic goth-punk energy that will have crowds moving wall to wall. Featuring Faster Pussycat’s Taime Downe on guest vocals, standout heavy rocker “No Apologies” is a fast-romping exorcism of toxic demons, while the triumphant mini-murder ballad “Decapitation” riles up listeners with a catchy lead riff before making a hard left into a theatrical bridge straight out of a sinister 60s sock hop! Ragers like “In Misery”“Xanaxtasy” and “Sick and Violent” explore various genres of metal, injecting the album with elements of gripping heaviness for any listener, while downtempo stunners “I Hurt You” and “My Funeral” approach a more pensive territory.

Although its title, Mid Death Crisis, may suggest otherwise, the Duke of Spook shows zero signs of stopping on this refreshingly powerful and multi-faceted entry into the WEDNESDAY 13 hall of horrific history!

Blending the grandiosity of symphonic orchestrations, classic guitar finesse, and a relentless drive, “Executioner” is a perfect showcase of Braveride’s artistic vision—where raw power meets intricate composition. As part of “The Great Awakening”, the track fits seamlessly into the album’s overarching fantasy concept where every song contributes to a mythical world of battles, heroes, and destiny.

With this new chapter, Braveride further solidifies its place in the epic power metal scene, making “Executioner” the perfect introduction to an album set to resonate deeply with fans of Rhapsody of Fire, Blind Guardian, and Manowar.

Founded in 2004 by Marios Christakis, Braveride was created with the vision of blending epic power metal with symphonic elements and a cinematic approach to storytelling. Over the years, the band has evolved refining their sound from the raw energy of their debut “Heroic Deeds” (2006) to the grandeur, more complex compositions featured in “The Great Awakening” (2025).

Inspired by fantasy literature, sword-and-sorcery tales, and epic battles, Braveride’s music transports listeners into mythical worlds. With soaring vocals, galloping rhythms, intricate orchestrations, and classical guitar passages, their sound stands out as a powerful force within the epic power metal landscape. Their ability to balance complexity and melody, creating both immersive full-album experiences and standalone anthems, has earned them a dedicated following among fans of Rhapsody of Fire, Blind Guardian, and Manowar.

Severed Angel is a metal band from the Northeastern United States (NY and PA) forged to unleash a sonic assault of melodic heavy metal upon the masses.

In 2018, drummer Wayne Noon started the Rat Salad Review network to promote his favorite bands and have fun with a podcast that provides insight to the metal bands that the mainstream media are unaware of. Some of those bands included Timeless Haunt (PA), The Nightmare Stage (NY), Infinite Spectrum (NY), and Tension Rising (NY).

As the original drummer for Phoenix Reign, a NYC-based power metal band, they released an album called Destination Unknown, and toured around the tri-state area. Their final show was at the Gramercy Theater in NYC opening for international recording artists Epica.

In 2019, guitarist Lou Mavs started his podcast (Music Is Life Podcast) discussing his opinions and experience as a musician. Wayne and Lou were friends from the time Phoenix Reign was playing shows in Lou’s native Queens, NY, and Wayne asked Lou if his podcast would join Rat Salad Review as a show on the network, to which he did.

In late 2020, Wayne was preparing the release of his new band Project Resurrect. It was around that time that the music world suffered the loss of Edward Van Halen. Lou and Wayne suggested that they cover a Van Halen song as a tribute to Eddie, and enlisted the services of Timeless Haunt bassist George Dimitri and Thrash Or Die/Combat vocalist Ralph Viera. The cover was released to positive responses. 2021 saw the release of Project Resurrect’s False Reality CD and Rat Salad Review & Friends’ Cover Series, Part 1 EP.

In early 2022, Wayne suggested forming a new original band with Lou, George, The Nightmare Stage keyboardist Marc Muchnik, and Infinite Spectrum bassist/songwriter Alex Repetti (also of Tension Rising and Project SEAR), Lou provided an original demo written 12 years ago called Dogs of War, which was written as entrance music for his cousin – MMA fighter Robby Plotkin (currently a US Army Ranger). Wayne thought the song was perfect for this new project and arranged a new version of it, to which Marc and Alex wrote lyrics, and Lou re-recorded his parts. Upon completion of the song, it was official – Severed Angel was born.

Groove Metal Tornadoes Dosgamos Unveil ‘On Day Seven He Regretted’ Single

Emerging as a force in the global metal scene, Italian groove metal maestros Dosgamos proudly announce their blistering new single, ‘On Day Seven He Regretted’, out now. Serving as the title track from their forthcoming album, slated for release on March 14, 2025, via WormHoleDeath Records, the song delves into the existential weight of creation, challenging the morality of birthing a flawed humanity.

A striking and thought-provoking track, “On Day Seven He Regretted” pairs pummeling riffs and intricate rhythms with lyrical themes of existential dread and disillusionment. The song serves as a philosophical exploration of creation, morality, and the human condition, inviting listeners to reflect on their own place within a flawed existence. With a relentless groove metal foundation and powerful vocals, the track channels raw frustration and despair, evoking a sense of cyclical struggle and chaos.

Watch the video here:

The album “On Day Seven He Regretted” marks a bold evolution for Dosgamos, building upon the foundation laid by their 2022 release, Wrapped Renaissance. This new track is a testament to the band’s growth and artistic ambition, with Vinnie (guitar) and Elia (drums) taking full control of the songwriting. Their collective vision has resulted in a more powerful and cohesive sound that blends complex rhythms and harmonic depth, enriched by the band’s unique blend of influences.

Drawing from the heavy hitters of the metal world like Decapitated, Meshuggah, and Destrage, and incorporating jazz-rock elements inspired by icons like Miles Davis and Snarky Puppy, Dosgamos has created an unmistakable sonic identity. Michele’s vocals—infused with the spirit of Corey Taylor and Phil Anselmo—add further emotional weight to the track, elevating its intensity and lyrical complexity. Milarevan’s striking album artwork visually complements the themes of disillusionment and the search for truth that run through the album, while Alessandro’s guitar contributions and the expert mixing by Ronnie Björnström round out the album’s innovative sound.

Formed in 2018, Dosgamos has been carving out a unique niche in the metal landscape, blending powerful grooves with intricate melodies. The band features Michele Altavilla’s dynamic vocals, along with drummer Gorath (Stormcrow), bassist Giulio Garibaldi, and guitarist Vinnie (Injury). Following the pandemic, they completed their debut album, “Wrapped Renaissance,” which was recorded in late 2021 and released in 2022.

Since then, Dosgamos has been relentlessly promoting their debut with electrifying live performances across East Europe. This includes a successful tour through the Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, England, Wales, and Albania. The addition of drummer Elia Dutto and guitarist Alessandro Parola has only strengthened their live presence, culminating in a powerful debut at a festival in Prague.

The powerful new anthem features guest vocals from Kamelot singer Tommy Karevik and cinematic dark soundscapes that perfectly support the storyline. “The Witch” arrives with a spellbinding official music video, enhancing the mysterious, ghostly atmosphere of the song and truly mesmerizing the listener.

Tobias Sammet on “The Witch”:
“’The Witch’ is a dark and enchanting song that carries many traditional Avantasia trademarks, and yet it has a sinister and magical mood that I think is somehow new in the world of Avantasia, while it perfectly blends with the rest of the album. Tommy Karevik of Kamelot did a wonderful job on this one and I can’t wait to sing this song with Tommy on our forthcoming tour. We’ll bring the great stage setting to turn the stage into the ghost infested old castle resembling the ancient building which we shot the stunning video clip for the track at. It’s a beautiful track, powerful, anthemic, melodic and full of eerie little details. I am extremely proud of the song and the whole album.”
