Poland-Based Blackened Death Metal Band ORBSTRUCT Announce Third Full-Length Album; First Single Out Now

Poland-based blackened death metal band ORBSTRUCT set October 3rd as the international release date for their highly anticipated third full-length album, Ostracism, which will be released via Paragon Records in all physical formats.

“Ostracism was meant to be a manifesto of our solitude, which we wanted to offer as a gift and the best chance for each person to truly know themselves. But as we dove deeper into our own minds, we came across images we weren’t ready for. Under pressure from outside forces we couldn’t control, we couldn’t see a way back from this nightmare, so we were forced to fight our way out through paths that completely shattered how we saw reality and ourselves. In the end Ostracism became a scream of our despair, from which we no longer expect a reply, but we still hope we’re not alone in this emptiness, and that our cry will be heard.” – says the band

The first single, “Hive”, is out now and available on all digital platforms, including the band’s official Bandcamp page, where you can pre-order the album: https://orbstructofficial.bandcamp.com/album/ostracism

The band comments on ‘Hive’:
“HIVE is the roar of countless voices, all blending into one, urging you to become a single mind and a unified body, to transform and be reborn into something new. It doesn’t matter if you’re afraid or if you truly desire this change. What truly counts is your final choice. Will you stay true to yourself on this journey, facing it alone as you seek enlightenment, even if it means risking your sanity? Or will you give up right away, guaranteeing you reach the end, but never truly experiencing or understanding it?”

ORBSTRUCT is the adept of the darkest side of Death. Paying great attention to the grim and oppressive atmosphere of their music, the band manages to give their compositions an unusual for death metal coldness and disturbing emotions that are constantly intertwined with bursts of aggression and fury, leaving an indelible impression on the listeners. Originally, the band was formed in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and over the years has become one of the most recognizable death metal bands in their home country.

Orbstruct is also well-known beyond their homeland. The band’s first two albums, Phobos Rising and Deimos Falling, were successfully released on physical media simultaneously by two labels: Paragon Records in the USA and Envenomed Music in the EU. Both albums were warmly received by critics and collectors in many countries.

With the onset of the war in Ukraine, the band did not cease its activities and began actively performing charity concerts to raise funds in support of war victims. Despite the ongoing conflict, the band also managed to record their third full-length album. As the fighting intensified, the band members decided to relocate to Europe to continue their work.

Evil In All Dimensions is undeniable proof of AMBUSH’s unwavering passion and talent for the genre. Now, with Napalm Records as their partner, they are primed to take the world by storm. The title track and opener perfectly delivers classic 80s heavy metal hooks with sleek, modern production. Taking listeners along a nightmare turned reality, this song kicks off with high energy drum grooves by Linus Fritzson and powerful riffs from guitar-virtuosos Karl Dotzek and Olof Engqvist. Bassist Oskar Andersson knows how to hypnotize the audience with his lines in the brooding “The Night I Took Your Life”, while “Maskirovka” is an anthem with a standout performance from vocalist Oskar Jakobsson. The track’s mid-tempo groove personifies the difficulties of standing up for truth in a world shaped by manipulation. In addition to their undeniable talent to revive fast and glorious 80s headbangers, the Swedes also surprise with the gripping power ballad “I Fear the Blood”. A song to pump your fist to, vacillating between themes of escapism and self-destruction, amidst the battle against one’s inner demons. Founder Oskar Jakobsson screams his soul out in this heavy-hearted and honest masterpiece, which creates the perfect moment to wave your lighters in the air, passionately belting along.

AMBUSH about the album:
“We are stoked to unveil Evil In All Dimensions – our long-awaited 4th album. For us the album feels like a new dawn where everything is possible and steel rules the world. We regard it as the proudest moment in our hellbent strive for Heavy Metal mastery, and we hope that you guys will appreciate it!”

WRETCHED To Unleash Long-Awaited Decay Full-Length

For the last two years, Charlotte, North Carolina‘s lauded metal monsters WRETCHED worked on the songs that would populate their long-awaited fifth full-length, Decay. Set for release on October 17th on Metal Blade Records, the result is a conceptual masterpiece that blends haunting melodies with progressive complexity.

This fifth album, which is a prequel to 2010‘s Beyond The Gate, delves into existential themes, D&D-inspired mythology, and personal loss. The record sees the boundary-pushing lineup breaking past defined walls of their four previous releases. Sonically, Decay may be WRETCHED‘s most pristine-sounding recording, but it‘s still raw with a live feeling in the performances. The band didn‘t track the parts until they sounded like a computer. You hear guitarist Steven Funderburk pick through the strings and fret the instrument, bassist Andrew Grevey shines on bass with a potent musicality and movement, his parts as much a part of the sound and structure of the songs as the guitar. Vocally, Billy Powers went as raw as humanly possible, pushing himself and the instrumentals to their furthest for an uncompromisingly powerful performance on every track.

“We‘ve had a lot of time to grow and reflect in the time between our last album and Decay,” says drummer Marshall Wieczorek. “WRETCHED is doing what WRETCHED always does, and that‘s exploring our environment and leaving room for ourselves to try different things. To sum things up, the new album is dynamic. We go here, we go there, we go everywhere. There is no shortage of groove, heaviness, speed, melodicism, prettiness, and sadness.”

“Decay is 100% a concept album,” confirms Powers. “Beyond The Gate had an element this record shares, the talisman. I always knew there was more story there and was very excited to join up with the guys again to put that in motion. The first track I wrote was ’The Golden Tide.‘ I had no idea where I was going to take the story connection to Beyond The Gate until I typed the first line of the song. ’They began in the dark.‘ After that, the lyrics poured out of my mind and by the end of it I realized that this story takes place many years before the content of Beyond The Gate.”

The LP‘s title track and first single contains the album‘s main character, Malus, along with a character from Beyond The Gate named Elturiel. “In the song, ’decay‘ refers to Malus‘ decaying existence, the feeling of loss, and helplessness/lack of control he has to influence anything outside of the darkness in which he has been cast.”

In broader terms, decay refers to many elements of the album‘s story, “The decay of good intention, the loss of loved ones, the influence time and choices has upon our bodies and minds and the decay of the world around us due to the choices of those with ultimate power.”

Powers further elaborates, “[The song] ’Decay‘ is a chapter in our story in which our main character Malus has lost his physical body due to becoming possessed by an ancient Necromancer. He is just a conscious thought floating through the void between time and space, conjuring a familial djinn named Elturiel to gain his assistance in returning to his mortal shell. This track revolves a lot around out of body experience, lucid dreaming, inner voices/internal dialogue, and the potential for reincarnation. It‘s the feeling when you‘re so sure that you‘ve lost it all, yet you see that little shimmering glimmer of hope at the end of a long, dark tunnel. Then you have the rug pulled out from underneath you to find that the darkness is what you may only ever know. Not to say that all hope is lost because, in the context of the lyrics, it is not. There‘s a repeated line near the middle and ending of the song that says ’once more upon this eternal flat circle.‘ It is inspired by True Detective S1 where it‘s said ’time is a flat circle.‘ This has all happened before and will all happen again. I‘m not a flat earther.”

Sink or Swim w/ Quebec’s UNPUNISHED New Single “As Water Fills My Lungs” Off Upcoming EP “Echoes of History” Out Sept 2025

One of Quebec City’s rising metal forces, Unpunished, has dropped their emotionally charged new single, “As Water Fills My Lungs,” the second track to be unveiled from their upcoming EP, “Echoes of History,” set to arrive on September 5, 2025. The track marks a pivotal moment in the band’s evolution, blending melodic intensity with brutal honesty and setting the tone for what promises to be one of the most compelling underground metal releases of the year.

Originally tested live in 2023, Unpunished took an unconventional approach, refining the track based on fan feedback before heading into the studio. The result is a song that is a visceral journey through betrayal, anxiety, and despair. The opening track of the EP, “As Water Fills My Lungs,” weaves hauntingly melodic choruses with relentless, high-intensity verses, building toward a cathartic breakdown that grips listeners and refuses to let go.

The band adds:

“This song revolves around a very melodic chorus that carries a lot of emotions. The verses put emphasis on fast guitars and drums that carry a feeling of anger. The bridge section offers a moment of rest as a heart-wrenching guitar solo and highly melodic vocals take the lead. A breakdown then brings the emotional culmination of the song, followed by one last chorus and a pummeling end part.”

Listen to “As Water Fills My Lungs” at the following link:

Produced by drummer Justin Lefebvre, “Echoes of History” marks the band’s second release and a bold evolution in their sound, from richer guitar tones to intricately layered vocals. The album is the result of two years of intense craftsmanship, with every nuance reflecting their unwavering commitment to perfection and their resistance to formulaic songwriting. Each track delivers a unique blend of emotion and musical identity, making the record a deeply immersive experience.

“We wanted this record to reflect that emotional descent—melodic yet aggressive, technical yet raw. It’s a last cry for help from someone losing the battle against his demons,” adds vocalist Jean-Christophe Magnan.

Channeling pure precision, raw passion, and unrelenting energy that pulls fans into a collective frenzy of screams and sweat, Unpunished is recommended for fans of As I Lay Dying, The Black Dahlia Murder, Trivium, Parkway Drive, and Bleed From Within.

DEAD FIELDS of WOOLWICH Unleash New Video “Cult of The Cemetery” Off Forthcoming Sophomore Album “Monarch of The Grave”

Unleashing their self-titled debut album in 2023, Dead Fields Of Woolwich unveils their first single “Cult of The Cemetery” off their forthcoming sophomore album “Monarch of The Grave” due out late this year.

Dead Fields Of Woolwich has its beginnings going back to the autumn of 2020 in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, when multi-instrumentalist Kye Bell (Withing Nostalgia, Falamh) created a gloomy, doom metal project focused on dreary lyrics and a gothic-laden sound. Recruiting Alyssa Broere on vocals, the dark twosome began their musical journey. Now, for their next follow-up and second album, the duo has grown to a full-fledged band with the addition of guitarist Dave Strba, bassist Greg Meir, and drummer Kyle Taylor.

Band founder and guitarist Kye Bell explains further on the band’s evolution:

“The sound has evolved since the first release. When writing the first album, the focus was more on powerful chords and drudging riffs. Those things are still there in small doses, but this album is full of harder-hitting songs and much more memorable parts that stick with you after the listen is done. This album breaks away from the typical Doom formula and kind of takes on its own shape. The songwriting has become more refined over time as well, lyrics are more concrete with well-defined concepts. I feel like this particular single, Cult of the Cemetery, will be very well received due to the more rock-rounded nature of the song while still maintaining its heaviness and its foot firmly planted in the metal realm. It opens the doors to a different audience, yet still stays true to the dark nature of the band.”

With its very memorable riffs, this new single is catchy hell and dark as the grave it speaks of. Melodic and melancholic, it is recommended for fans of Paradise Lost, Type O Negative, and Katatonia.

VICIOUS RUMORS New album ‘The Devil’s Asylum’

It‘s been five years since US power metal act Vicious Rumors unleashed their most recent album. Five years during which band mastermind Geoff Thorpe and his crew played well over one hundred and fifty shows, presenting their longstanding career in condensed form and performing a playlist featuring their most important VR classics. These shows have left their mark on the band members while at the same time releasing a burst of new energy. Both these factors are now literally about to culminate on their upcoming album ’The Devil‘s Asylum‘, which Geoff Thorpe aptly summarises, saying: “’The Devil‘s Asylum‘ sees us return to our roots, which we‘ve combined with contemporary influences.” He continues: “Vicious Rumors look back at a career that spans 45 years, so there‘s only one goal for us: Everything we do should always be significant, every show, every song, every new album. This band has always stood for maximum intensity, powerful music and lots of new, fresh ideas.” In this respect, ’The Devil‘s Asylum‘ couldn‘t be more typical of Vicious Rumors and at the same time the album is bound to appeal to new fans.

Alongside band leader/founder Geoff Thorpe, there‘s original member Larry Howe on drums and vocals, with long-time bassist Robin Utbult completing the core foundation of VR. After the songs were written, the addition of two new members has made the band chemistry rise to a new level! There‘s vocalist Chalice and the second new member guitarist Denver Cooper, who – like Chalice – also hails from Cape Coral in Florida.

The first single and video for the song “Bloodbath” is a raw speed metal attack with melodic vocals and thrashy guitar riffs which perfectly combines the group‘s irresistible heaviness with speed and catchiness.

Symphonic black metal band ART INFERNO return with new single “Faithful Of Caressing Horrors”

Italian cult symphonic black metallers ART INFERNO break a long silence with the release of their new single “Faithful Of Caressing Horrors.”

The song was recorded, mixed and mastered at the band’s own studio MonoGravity Studios“Faithful Of Caressing Horrors” is a deep and introspective excursus on the shaky boundary which seemingly separates Good and Evil. That thin and often almost indecipherable line often opens the door to nefarious scenarios and confronts us with the demons of fear, in a continuous oscillation between order and chaos, death and creation.

Musically ART INFERNO are still the masters of symphonic black metal but introducing some novelties which will lead their sound toward new experimentation and avant-garde.

Formed in 1997 from the ashes of JOURNEY THROUGH THE DARKART INFERNO released two years after their debut “Abyssus Abyssum Invocat” (Scarlet Records), an opus of symphonic black metal featuring orchestral arrangements – some press called it Wagnerian black metal -, dark-horror ambient atmospheres and folk influences. The album achieved considerable public and critical success. A few dates in Italy followed, including a gig at Agglutination Metal Festival in 2000. A series of vicissitudes and logistical problems prevented the band from continuing the path, leading to a long silence and inactivity until, after finding themselves so many years later together again, the three original members (M. Acheron – guitar, Nerio – bass and vocals and M. Grinder – drums) decided to resume musical activity and immediately released a new single entitled “Faithful Of Caressing Horrors.” The song will serve as the forerunner to a series of other songs to be included in the next album. After the release of the single, the band will continue momentarily as a duo, with M. Acheron on guitar and synth and Nerio on vocals, bass and synth.

THRÆDS release new single and video “Nothing Good to Say” and announce full album details for Impermanence

Progressive post-rockers THRÆDS have just released their new single and official video “Nothing Good to Say”, taken from their debut album Impermanence, which will be released on June 6 via Octopus Rising and Argonauta Records, available on CD and digital formats.

THRÆDS dives deep into the complexities of time, self-awareness, and resilience with their latest track, Nothing Good to Say. Fusing progressive post-rock with atmospheric shoegaze elements, the song creates a brooding yet introspective soundscape that mirrors the journey of confronting bitterness while striving to remain curious and humble.

Laced with raw emotion, the lyrics grapple with inner struggles—asking how much hostility and tragedy one can endure before learning to let go. Themes of surrendering control, embracing life’s uncertainties, and resisting darker temptations weave through haunting melodies and expansive instrumentals. Ethereal guitar layers and dynamic buildups guide listeners through a contemplative experience, balancing tension with reflection.

Nothing Good to Say invites listeners to look time in the eye, acknowledge life’s harsh realities, and find peace in vulnerability. It’s a reminder that even amidst chaos and disillusionment, there’s strength in choosing growth over bitterness, and curiosity over fear.

Watch the video:

With Impermanence, THRÆDS explore the fragile and fleeting nature of existence through eight meticulously composed tracks. The band confronts the inevitability of entropy and the cycles of creation and destruction, shaping a sound that is both intense and immersive. Their music evolves between moments of overwhelming heaviness and eerie stillness, reflecting the unpredictable forces that shape human experience.

Formed in 2019 by guitarist and composer Angelos Tzamtzis, THRÆDS began as a solo project and quickly developed into a full band following his move to Berlin. Their multinational lineup blends progressive metal, post-metal and atmospheric rock with influences from Gojira, Tool, Alcest, Elder and Porcupine Tree.

Tracklist:1. Timeless
2. Reflections
3. Nothing Good to Say
4. Clockworks
5. Sole Survivor
6. Devolve
7. Einstein Rosen Bridge
8. Story in Reverse

The album is entirely self-produced. Drums and vocals were recorded by Matthias Schilling at G7 Studios, while all other instruments were recorded by Angelos Tzamtzis. Guest contributions by Alekos Gramma (saxophone) and Vangelis Sazanidis (synthesizer) add further tension and depth to the sound, amplifying the album’s haunting and cinematic atmosphere.

According to the band, Impermanence is a meditation on change and collapse, a reflection on the violence and beauty of transformation. Their aim is to create an unfiltered and honest experience, using dissonance, atmosphere and dynamic shifts to challenge the listener and evoke a strong emotional response.

Out Now! SHORES OF NULL Live Album “Beauty Over Europe” + New Live Video “A Nature in Disguise” + EU Tour Dates

Italian melancholic dark metal band Shores Of Null is proud to unveil their first live album, “Beauty Over Europe,” now available as of May 9th, 2025, via Sulphur Music / Masked Dead Records.

To celebrate its release day, Shores of Null are sharing their new live video, “A Nature in Disguise”. The audio track was recorded live at Backstage in Munich, Germany. Footage is taken from the 2023 European tour with Swallow The Sun, Draconian, and Avatarium, mainly at Barba Negra in Budapest by Péter Lerch.

Watch and listen to the live video for “A Nature in Disguise”:

“Beauty Over Europe” features 10 tracks recorded during the monumental 2023 European tour with Swallow The Sun, Draconian, and Avatarium. Throughout that tour, Shores of Null performed 35 shows across 18 countries, including Norway, Denmark, Germany, the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Hungary, bringing their critically acclaimed album “The Loss Of Beauty” to the stage.

The live recordings, captured in Leipzig, Munich, Aschaffenburg, Budapest, and Belfast, preserve the raw and emotive energy of their performances. Each track reflects the band’s ability to blend melancholic melodies with crushing heaviness, offering fans a visceral live experience.

“Beauty Over Europe” is both a celebration of the tour and a gift to all fans of the band. Exactly two years after that unforgettable journey, this live album offers a chance to relive the emotional intensity and true essence of Shores Of Null’s live performances.

Reflecting on the experience, vocalist Davide Straccione and guitarist Gabriele Giacarri share their thoughts:

“This tour was an incredible journey, the longest in our career, and a true milestone for Shores Of Null. As the promotional tour for The Loss Of Beauty, our latest and most acclaimed album to date, it was an honor to bring these songs to life across 35 shows in 18 countries. Sharing the stage with monumental bands like Swallow The Sun and Draconian—huge inspirations for our music—was unforgettable. Despite the melancholy of their sound, they’re some of the most fun and genuine people we’ve met, and by the end of this epic journey, we were proud to call them friends.

We owe special thanks to our incredible crew—Petri, Matti, Mikko, and Tero—who ensured everything ran seamlessly and made this experience unforgettable. To pay homage to this extraordinary chapter, we decided to produce a live album. Recorded during key moments of the tour, it captures the essence of these unforgettable performances and is dedicated to all the people who supported us live and shared these magical moments with us.” – Gabriele Giaccari

Davide Straccione adds:

“Our 2023 European tour with Swallow The Sun, Draconian, and Avatarium was one of the most beautiful and intense experiences of my life. Night after night, we poured everything we had into our performances, connecting deeply with audiences across 18 countries. It was a journey that marked a pivotal moment in our career as a band as well, and one we’ll carry with us forever. This live album is our way of preserving and sharing that beauty, not only as a gift to those who joined us in the crowd, but also for those who couldn’t be there to witness it.”

Shores of Null stand out from their contemporaries with their ability to blend seemingly disparate elements into their sound, overwhelmingly heavy and soothing at the same time: blackened aggression stands alongside gothic-doom sections without either sounding out of place. Their music can be both melancholic and majestic, made of chorale-like guitar textures across the instrument’s entire range, sustained by a powerful rhythmic section and punctuated by a refined mixture of clean and growled vocals, along with extensive use of pleasing vocal harmonies which have become the band’s trademark through the years.

The Rome-based metal band has been an unwavering presence within the metal underground since their musical outset in 2013, churning out a series of impressive records: the melodic and somber “Quiescence” (Candlelight, 2014), the darker and more complex “Black Drapes For Tomorrow” (Candlelight/Spinefarm, 2017), and the ambitious “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)” (Spikerot Records, 2020), a 38-minute long doom manifesto that sees guest appearances of the doom-titans Mikko Kotamäki (Swallow The Sun) and Thomas A.G. Jensen (Saturnus), along with the angelic voice of Elisabetta Marchetti (Inno).

Shores Of Null’s fourth album, “The Loss Of Beauty”, released in March 2023, was hailed as one of the best albums of the year within the genre. The band supported the release with an extensive EU/UK tour alongside Swallow The Sun, Draconian, and Avatarium, followed by standout performances at major festivals like Hellfest, Rock Imperium, and 70000 Tons Of Metal, among others, further solidifying their status as one of the rising forces in the metal scene.
